Rings: A Disasterous Rebirth

I am going to start off with saying this movie is a disgrace. The previews they gave for this movie made it look absolutely terrifying and amazing. But when I actually watched the film, it was very slow and quite boring. I was very pleased to know that I did not waste money going to see it in theatres.

Now I won’t completely bomb it, there were a couple, and I repeat, a couple of good spots in the film, but that was literally it.

The film was genuinely as slow as the first two. I cannot believe that after 12 years, the plot and speed have remained the same.

In terms of the plot, there has been a little change, but not much. The only thing that has changed is that after you watch the film, you must make a copy and make someone else watch it, or you’ll die, whereas in the past, once you watched it, you were going to die regardless. Also, instead of the killer calling on the landline, it’s now been switched over to the cellular devices.

Now, I will say that the graphics on this film were phenomenal. I give them an A+ in that category.

I am so terribly sorry if you paid to see this film. Because I do not see where it was worth the high price of theatre tickets. I don’t think many people gave it much of a chance though, since it only made $13,002,632 during opening weekend, and the budget for the film was $25,000,000. After a month of being released, the gross was right under $28 million, so they barely broke even.

There will be a sequel to this film, and that’s part of my confusion. Like, is this a rebirth of the franchise? Just like they pick up in the film, or is this a sequel to the second one? The connections are messy and confusing. Naomi Watts released the child in the second one, which ended the killing, but in this film, she’s coming back out of the well yet again. Now, her body wasn’t in a well this time, apparently it was in her original hometown, stuck inside a wall by her preacher daddy, which is where her body was shipped once released from the well in the second film.

I will not give the next sequel the time of day, because this makes strike three for nonsense of a film. I won’t bash the first two, because at least for their time, it was new and something worth exploring. But now, it’s just stuck on repeat.

Some things are meant to stay in the past, The Ring should be included!

Amber and Piers: Nudity vs Feminism

Twitter is an infamous site to get all the celebrity tea and drama. It’s like a live version of reality and it doesn’t even cost a penny. Just three days ago, Amber Rose and Piers Morgan let it all hang out!

I guess you could say that Morgan initiated it by giving his opinion, which there’s nothing wrong with. Here’s the tweets between the two!

The ratchet & disrespect was real! But I honestly felt like Piers was holding it down! He even through a little bit of shade. 😂

If you’ve seen Amber’s bare photo – which anyone with any social media accounts surely have – then you can see what all the discussion is about!

I’ve seen a lot of reports from feminism magazines bashing Piers, saying he was attacking Amber and bashing her.

I do understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I respectfully call bs on the matter. He didn’t do anything wrong except give his opinion while stating that women shouldn’t have to bare all just to feel empowered, and I agree.

Do you honestly think showing your 🐱 on the internet is going to make people respect you and give you power?

Piers even shares this letter that Pop singer, Pink wrote:

I do feel that we as grown adults can do whatever we please with our lives. Amber can spread it for the world to see, do you boo. She’s clearly got the money and fame, so she outranks a lot of us.

I know it’s freedom of expression, and we express ourselves in our own ways. But my thing is, it gets hard to take things seriously when there are shenanigans tied with them. But that’s what controversy is all about. It gets you talking, researching and defining what things are. It gets you involved.

Now, we don’t really know what goes on in Amber’s head when she does her outlandish acts, again, it’s just her type of expression, which is why I’d love to see her and Piers together in a room, hashing it out about their ideas on femenism.

Now one thing I have with Piers is, he brought my woman, Lady Gaga, into it. What did she even have to do with their conversation? And amber did the same with Adam Levine:

Piers didn’t have a respond for this.

I really do hope they have a sit down and Converse about their opposing views on feminism. It would be miraculous to see them gain a mutual understanding and common ground.

What are your thoughts?

Pulse: One Year Later

It’s been a year since the tragic accident in Orlando Florida, when crazed and sickened Omar Mateen shot up the Pulse nightclub, which is a LGBTQ friendly club were such members can go and enjoy themselves. But that wasn’t the case for 49 people that night.

I want this to be a huge reminder for everyone, which really connects to my previous blog, that we have so much to fight for, and accomplish. This attack was one of the biggest hate crimes to hit on American Soil. People were murdered for being who they were meant to be.

Pulse Victims, 2016

It’s hard to imagine that we still face these situations in the new millennium, as we should be way past these types of unnecessary situations. But I want this to be a huge billboard for the quacks that say there is no homophobia, no anti-gay laws, etc. especially since we’re still struggling to be recognized as regular human beings like everyone else.

Then there are those who don’t even care. Nicki Minaj tweeted this just a few days after the incident:

It’s completely fine to have your own beliefs and what not, everyone is entitled and unique in their own way… but this? Absolutely no remorse or sympathy for the lives that have been lost? Disgusting.

But it’s not even just Nicki.

Some of the parents of the victims never even claimed their bodies after the shooting. Yes, you heard me correctly on that. Why, Do you ask? Because they don’t accept their children for being gay… how heartbreaking, htat even in death, some of these poor souls couldn’t find love and acceptance. Might I remind you all that some of these people would just be turning 22, 23 years old. These were literally babies.  Hell, even the ones that were older, in their 40s and 50s, should be considered babies, for the fact that there is not a point in time when someone says or should ever say: “they’re old enough, it’s ok if they die.”

Homophobia is real and very much alive today. I don’t know what’s worse, the man killing these innocent people, or the parents that reject them, even in death. They’re both pretty neck and neck if you ask me.

This should honestly be the new reason and slogan for our pride month, because this is what we fight for, this is what we want justice for, not some damn fictional monster named babadook!

It’s irrelevant to me if the crazed murderer claimed to be apart of isis or not. That’s no excuse to let this kind of tragic situation slide. This one incident may have been for “isis” but that doesn’t mean that everyone that gets bashed, bullied and murdered on the daily isn’t from someone who is a homophobe.

It warms my heart to see so many people posting in favor and memory of the pulse victims. It lets me know that some of us still remember and are stricken by the pain to this day. Let them Rest In eternal Peace, because that’s what they deserve. Let’s not allow their murders to be in vain!

prideful June

Every year, in the mont of June, the nation, along with many countries around the world, celebrate the LGBTQ community, & every year, the gays all get together to promote their dignity, equality, and to increase their visibility as a social group. This is know as Gay Pride, which is the positive stance against discrimination and violence towards this group.

But regardless of why you attend the special LGBTQ events for equality, whether it’s to meet people, party, or for social justice, I think the message we send out is very important. I honestly think people lose track of why we have such a celebratory month to begin with. When I attended pride, I didn’t receive a history lesson, but I will say that I got to see different walks of life, the young mixed with the old, the conservatives mixed with the liberals, so on and so forth, which was an eye opening experience for myself. I’m all for people having a great time, hell, we very much deserve it in my book after all the oppression we have received over the decades, but I think it’s fair that we also get a continual reminder as to why we get to even celebrate.

Pride outside at the Idaho Capitol

So, let’s jump back to the 1950s and 1960s. This era was extremely repressive for the LGBTQ community. There were no legal or social rights for any of them. We can give much thanks to such organizations like Daughters of Bilitis & Mattachine Society for being the ones to pave the way for our community today. They would carry out pickets known as annual reminders to inform the nation that the LGBTQ community didn’t have any rights whatsoever. These annual reminders began in 1965 & took place each July 4th, outside of Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

The protesters of this course counted gay men and women to have mental illness, much like we see today, hence Mike Pence, the 45th’s backup.

The first Pride march in New York City was June 28, 1970. Which was proposed by Craig Rodwell, his partner Fred Sargeant, Ellen Broidy, & Linda Rhodes back in 1969.

“That the Annual Reminder, in order to be more relevant, reach a greater number of people, and encompass the ideas and ideals of the larger struggle in which we are engaged-that of our fundamental human rights-be moved both in time and location.

We propose that a demonstration be held annually on the last Saturday in June in New York City to commemorate the 1969 spontaneous demonstrations on Christopher Street and this demonstration be called CHRISTOPHER STREET LIBERATION DAY. No dress or age regulations shall be made for this demonstration.

We also propose that we contact Homophile organizations throughout the country and suggest that they hold parallel demonstrations on that day. We propose a nationwide show of support.”

Stockholm Pride Week 2014

We also can’t forget about Brenda Howard, the woman known as the Mother of Pride for her use of coordinating the first march, which went down in history, & covered the 51 blocks to Central Park. She also originated the dea for a week long series of events surrounding Pride day.

During the same weekend of the NYC march, there were two marches in California: one in L.A. And one in San Francisco, as well as a march in Chicago. Just two years after the first march, 15 more cities/countries joined the Pride March, including Stockholm, Atlanta, & London.

These legends really paved the way for or community, & I wish they were given more air time. Especially since we have come as far as being able to marry our own now! Our rights are getting higher and higher on the scale, & I’m damn sure they would be all too happy to see what has been accomplished.

So next time you’re out celebrating Pride, take a moment to realize why you’re able to do it in the first place. When you sip on your beer, make a toast to the ones that made it all possible for us.

The Jurassic World of LEGO

I want to start off by apologizing to my followers for not posting in a while. I’ve been doing a lot of work on my YouTube channel, so be sure to go check that out! I’ve also recently came down with the flu, & we all know how that goes.

I also want to say that I see people check my website site daily, and I am so gracious and thankful for you all! Much love to you all!

But I want to take this time to talk about this amazing Xbox One game, LEGO Jurassic World… Yes, I am a 25 year old who plays Lego games. I grew up playing with them in real life & now I play with them virtually, if you have a problem, them get at me.

Anyway, this is not the first Lego game I’ve played. When I was 16 years old, my cousin had the Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, & as I watched him play, I fell in love. So, obviously I went out and bought a copy, ha-ha. Yes, I progressed from there. I then went to the Batman saga, as well as the Harry Potter saga & the Lego Marvel Super Heroes, & now I’m at Jurassic Park!

If you’re a fan of the movies like I am, then you will not be disappointed in the game. The games covers all four films, not skipping a beat or missing a tune. That’s what I love about Tt Games, which is the creator of the Lego games, they make sure to cover every detail, from beginning to end.

Jurassic Park is a lot like Marvel Super Heroes, in the sense that it is all free roam, so you can travel between the four islands and explore everything around. You even get to play as the damn dinosaurs! Do you understand how hard my childhood came out of me? I was jumping with excitement as I unlocked the t-Rex! It is truly an amazing experience. The whole time I was playing the game, I was like, “yes! YES! That’s in the movie!” When I tell you that they don’t skip a beat, I’m telling you even the voices of the main characters are the same as the Hollywood actors from the films. The creators have really knocked my socks off with this one.

Let me really break it down for you on how awesome these games really are. I had the Star wars: TCS for Xbox 360, but I got rid of it when I got the Xbox one. So, when I saw that they had it for free for the Xbox subscription, I re-downloaded it, & of course, I had to do everything over. My dad watched me play it, and he legit fell in love. He would not leave my side when I played the game, ha-ha.

So we were at a GameStop the other day, and he said “you should get another Lego game, I like those.” I know right, cute as hell, my grown ass daddy is now hooked. I wasn’t going to argue! I picked up the Jurassic World, since I’ve wanted this game since it dropped, & again, this man will sit here and literally tell me what to do, all the while he refuses to play because he’s not a gamer. But, the point is, these Lego games are no joke! And for some reason, I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but every time I play a Lego game, it makes me want to watch the movies!

There are many great perks to this game, it takes some good effort and time, which to me is always worth the money because I usually beat a game within three days of purchasing it. But this one has work cut out for me. On the plus side of this purchase, it only cost me $15 bucks, when the original price of it was $30. I had a steal deal! It was truly meant to be.
