War Of The Apes 🦍

I literally just finished watching War of the Planet of the Apes, and it was literally everything! Emotions run high with this film.

We see the return of our all loving ape, Caesar, who continues to try and keep his fellow apes safe from the killing humans in the third segment of the series.

I won't give too much away, but I will say this film will tug at your heart strings numerous times during the two and a half hour show.

It will leave you on your toes! I kept saying throughout the movie that certain things would happen because it was so predictable, yet every single time, I was wrong! You may have a bit of a clue though, if you have seen the originals.

I've seen some of the originals, but it's been a few years and I don't even know which ones I've seen, haha.

Apart from the film making you want to cry at every turn, there are also multiple scenes that will have you cracking up.

My mother, grandfather and I went to the Xscape theatre to see the film, and this location had reclining seats so it's as if we were at home watching it, all kicked back and comfortable. It helped set the mood to really enjoy the film.

My grandfather took us out there to celebrate my mother's birthday, which is tomorrow! Let's all wish her a very happy birthday!!!! 💙❤️😘

If you've seen the originals, then you know that this film is not the end. There will be more to come, but they definitely left it on one hell of a cliff hanger, I won't give it away though, you'll have to see it for yourself! 😉

I give this film a 5 star rating! It doesn't matter if you see it in theatre or if you wait until it comes out on DVD, just make sure you see this film!

George Romero: A Legend Lost

History of a Legendary Icon

It brings me great sadness to say that the Godfather of the dead, George Romero, has passed away. I know this is no longer news, as he passed away on the 16th of July. But I cannot go without speaking of this legend.

I’m sure everyone knows Mr. Romero from the gruesome horror genre, specifically his classic zombie films. His first original 1968 classic, Night of the Living Dead, shocked the nation worldwide. When he made the film, he never expected the kind of excitement & publicity the film received, & that’s when his life changed.

After the New York native graduated from the University in 1960, he began doing film projects, such as short segments and commercials. Romero, along with 9 of his friends, formed Image Ten Productions in the late 1960s, and then went to work on filming Night of the Living Dead, which he shot in Pennsylvania. The king of horror went on to direct upward of 20 films during his lifetime, including: The Crazies, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Creepshow, Two Evil Eyes, Bruiser, and many more. For the first 15 years of his career, Romero directed, wrote, edited, & acted in all of his films.

Mr. Romero was also an exceptional writer. Many writings were movie tie-ins or forewords. But Romero also wrote articles for DC Comics from 2004-2005, & for Marvel Comics from 2014-2015. His last writing was called Nights of the Living Dead, which came out this year.

Romero left a whole legacy behind. Back in 2010, Romero was interviewed for the BBC documentary A History of Horror. Romero is known as the “Godfather of the Dead” along with the “father of the zombie films”. Romero paved the way, & holds high influence for numerous filmmakers & artists.

I am sad to say that Romero passed away in his sleep, after a long & aggressive battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his third wife, Suzanne Desrocher, & daughter, Tina Romero.

Personal Thoughts & Feelings

It really breaks my heart to know that Mr. Romero passed away. He was a big icon to me alone, & a huge influence in my life. I literally grew up watching his films. My great grandparents, god rest their souls, used to have the original Night of the living dead on VHS, & I would literally watch it every time I went out there. They lived in the outskirts of Louisville, so it really used to scare me! Also, when I would spend the night at my grandfather’s house, I would always watch the second and third installments, Dawn & Day of the Dead. When I grew older, it became routine for my grandfather & I to see his new installments, such as Land of the Dead, Diary & Survival of the Dead. In case you haven’t noticed, I am a real zombie fan, & of course, it’s all thanks to Mr. George Romero. The horror genre and films alone will never be the same without George. He was a real legend & we cannot say it enough.

It also saddens me that, in May of this year; Romero announced his newest zombie installment: Road of the Dead. The story is set on an island where zombie prisoners race cars in a modern-day Coliseum for the entertainment of wealthy humans. Romero was the second director to this film, which makes this the first zombie film that he didn’t direct himself, but now the status of the film is unknown. Three days before his passing, on July 13th, they released the first poster for the film.

Rings: A Disasterous Rebirth

I am going to start off with saying this movie is a disgrace. The previews they gave for this movie made it look absolutely terrifying and amazing. But when I actually watched the film, it was very slow and quite boring. I was very pleased to know that I did not waste money going to see it in theatres.

Now I won’t completely bomb it, there were a couple, and I repeat, a couple of good spots in the film, but that was literally it.

The film was genuinely as slow as the first two. I cannot believe that after 12 years, the plot and speed have remained the same.

In terms of the plot, there has been a little change, but not much. The only thing that has changed is that after you watch the film, you must make a copy and make someone else watch it, or you’ll die, whereas in the past, once you watched it, you were going to die regardless. Also, instead of the killer calling on the landline, it’s now been switched over to the cellular devices.

Now, I will say that the graphics on this film were phenomenal. I give them an A+ in that category.

I am so terribly sorry if you paid to see this film. Because I do not see where it was worth the high price of theatre tickets. I don’t think many people gave it much of a chance though, since it only made $13,002,632 during opening weekend, and the budget for the film was $25,000,000. After a month of being released, the gross was right under $28 million, so they barely broke even.

There will be a sequel to this film, and that’s part of my confusion. Like, is this a rebirth of the franchise? Just like they pick up in the film, or is this a sequel to the second one? The connections are messy and confusing. Naomi Watts released the child in the second one, which ended the killing, but in this film, she’s coming back out of the well yet again. Now, her body wasn’t in a well this time, apparently it was in her original hometown, stuck inside a wall by her preacher daddy, which is where her body was shipped once released from the well in the second film.

I will not give the next sequel the time of day, because this makes strike three for nonsense of a film. I won’t bash the first two, because at least for their time, it was new and something worth exploring. But now, it’s just stuck on repeat.

Some things are meant to stay in the past, The Ring should be included!

Alien Covenant: A Confusing Twist

WARNING**** THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!!!

When I heard about the new Alien movie, I was really hyped, especially when I found out it would be directed by Ridley Scott, who, not only directed Prometheus, but also directed the original Alien back in 1979.

BUT when I watched the movie, I was all types of confused. I am no longer sure where Mr. Scott is taking us. It is hard to tell if this is indeed the prequel set to the original aliens classics, or if this is going to be a whole new set all within itself.

Why do I say that? Because, even though Prometheus and Alien: Covenant are supposed to be set in the past, to show the becoming of the aliens in their pre-Xenomorph form that we know them as, the story line itself does not fit. In Prometheus we learned about the alien ship, and our “creators” who were trying to wipe our and recreate other life forms. Now, we jump into Covenant, and we’re on a completely different planet, where that jackass robot guy spends his time creating and breeding these alien forms to get the form that we know them as, aka, the facehugger, the big, black and slimy aliens, etc. Then the film ends with the robot taking over the surviving ship and adding three of the Xenomorph embryos to the colony collection.

But that is just the thing, in the original Alien, when Ripley’s ship found this alien boat, it was the same boat that we saw in Prometheus… So how do we get back to that point for it to become full circle? Where is that big boat at?

There are so many questions that I have, and to my understanding of the film, there will clearly be another film to come. So maybe that’s when we will come full circle?

It was a great film, a little slow, but worth it. I’m just not a fan of the confusing cliff hangers. But I am sure Ridley Scott knows what he’s doing! If you haven’t seen the film, go see it! I know I left a couple of spoilers, but believe me, there is still a lot to be covered!

OITNB Leaked Season 5 Gives Life!

If you were lucky, you got to see the 5th season of Orange Is The New Black, thanks to a hacker group that goes by the name of “thedarkoverlord” – which did it and demanded a modest ransom from Netflix, in order to stop the leak, but Netflix never responded.

A lot of reports have stated that the hackers only released episodes 2 through 10 of the new season, even though there are 13 episodes. Now, I cannot confirm nor deny if there are 13 episodes. But I can Say that it is false that they only released episodes 2 – 10. They released 1 – 10. I could assume that there will be 13 episodes, for that fact that the tenth episode stops dead in the midst of the final destruction in the Litchfield prison.  It could be used as a finale, but if they were to do that, there would be multiple serious cliff hangers.

But, this season is lit! I want to try my hardest to not give any spoilers, but the new season is everything. It is vulgar, sexual, horrifying, vindictive, surprising, & intense. During the mix of the Hollywood fantasy prison life, the producers continue to tie real life situations into the mix.

The rioting is very real, in the prison life, but also in the real world. There have been many riots and protests throughout the years, and they really picked up on it this season. What’s really amazing about this show, and this season in general, is that they keep it real, and say some real s**t. They cover the injustice murders of unarmed minorities by police, uniting minorities to stand up against “the one percent”, trying to fix the corrupt system, etc. This has to be the realest season by far!

I really do hope that there are three more episodes, because I need more answers! You will see many twists and turns, a lot of shocks, and there will be times when you may even cry a little, but of course, they keep the comedy alive, so you can definitely guarantee some good laughs.

These episodes are not completely finished. You will see some moments that still need work, including voice overs and they way they work the cell phones. But it still very good and authentic. Just a little over a month left before we get the full scoop!

I give this season five stars. You should definitely check it out. IF you haven’t watched the show, I highly recommend catching up with the first 4 seasons, so that you can be fully prepared for the fifth season, which is due to release on Netflix on June 6th.

Bates Motel: How it Should Have Ended

I have been a Psycho lover since Alfred Hitchcock’s original film in the 1960’s. I mean, who could ever forget the famous shower scene? I even found joy in the second and third sequel. The film successfully became a trilogy.

So, of course I was very excited when I saw that they were making a television show about the psycho. We would finally get to see Norman’s background story that led him to his psychosis lifestyle.

It was definitely an emotional roller coaster for the five season series, but I was very displeased at the end.

Let me say first that I love how they revisited the famous shower scene in the final season. Except they did it differently. Instead of it being the woman who got killed in the shower, it was a man, and it was fabulous. The only difference is there was no blood rinsing down the drain.

Obviously I expected everyone to die, but not Norman. The final episode concludes with Officer Romero being shot and killed by Norman, who then has a serious mental collapse, in which he mentally travels back in time where him and his mother, Norma, moved to the hotel to start their lives anew. He carries his mother’s corpse back to their home, where he makes dinner, then calls his brother, Dylan, to come over and ‘rekindle’ their distant relationship. Dylan agrees, since he knows that Romero broke him out of jail. Dylan shows up, gun in hand, walks in and finds Norma’s lifeless body sitting at the dinner table. This causes Dylan and Norman to have a serious argument about whats real and what is fake. The show ends with the two brothers fighting it out, and when Norman tries to stab Dylan, Dylan shoots him. Dylan, along with his wife and daughter, live their happy lives.

The ending was very powerful, as it showed the grave site, mother and son buried side by side, except Norma’s side had this beautiful long poem, while Norman’s side was plain and empty.

But. Norman. Is. Not. Supposed. To. Die.

That’s not how it played out in the films, anyways. He was supposed to be admitted to the psych ward, where he would eventually be released. Which is exactly how they should’ve ended it, because then it would’ve picked back up in the second film.

I love the films and I love the show, but I feel like it leaves a huge gap between the two. The series cannot be based on Norman’s life as a child and teen if they kill him off, because then the original second and third film don’t fit in.

But all in all, it was a fabulous show, and I did love every minute of it!

Bravo Housewives Update: Who’s Leaving & Who’s Returning?

We all know that reality television is not for everyone, but lets face it, the percentage of viewers is pretty high for the ever extending franchise. Even though we have seen some cities crumble, such as Washington D.C., as well as Miami, there is no denying that the major cities, such as New York City & Atlanta, have been going strong for many years now!

So lets get down to the nitty gritty shall we?

New Jersey Housewives

Well, this one is going to be VERY unexpected, but none other than the drama woman herself is to return, and if you’re a true housewife watcher, then you already know who I am speaking of! Yes, that’s right, Danielle Staub is to be returning for the 8th season! How insane is that? Danielle left after season two since the entire cast united against her. But what’s more insane is that she will be returning to the show due to her friendship with the one and only Teresa Guidice. You heard that correctly, apparently after the table flipping, exposing Teresa’s family issues, and prostitution whore comments, they finally settled their differences. Now, it’s not set in stone yet if Danielle will just be a frequent guest appearing on the show, or if she will officially return as a housewife. But she’s jumping with glee now that her new pal Teresa, is finally done with Jacqueline Laurita.

Which brings me to the one leaving the show. Yes, Jacqueline is calling it quits yet again with the franchise, which is understandable, giving that when she was on season 7, she literally came off as a mad woman, dealing with the hardcore realities that Teresa and her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, have become close once more. She also had her emotional hands full with trying to sell their luxurious home, as well as dealing with their young autistic son. But i honestly think she decided to quit after the producers denied her daughter, Ashley Holmes, from becoming a full time housewife.

Orange County Housewives

It brings me great sadness to say that my favorite O.C. housewife, Heather Dubrow, will not be returning for season 12. Dubrow felt as if she has ran her limit on the show and is ready to pursue her other aspirations with her husband. I loved this woman! She was so stuck up and in a nutshell when she first aired on the show, but slowly loosened up thanks to Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson. She was so funny and comical, yet so professional and all that! She will truly be missed by yours truly.

Another familiar face won’t be making their returning debut. It’s a blonde, can you guess who? Don’t worry, it’s nobody important, it’s only Meghan King Edmonds.  There was not much information leaked as too why she decided not to return. But her and hubby, Jim Edmonds, did welcome their beautiful baby girl into the world, after going through in vitro on season 11. Meghan was a bit of an outcast as well, giving that she didn’t get along with a lot of the other women.

Don’t worry, Tamra will be returning, even though Vicki and Kelly Dodd tried really hard to get her removed from the show due to their intense amounts of drama last season, but Bravo was not having it. If anything I would have loved to see Kelly get fired, she’s not that good of a person, but we get it, Vicki needs someone on her side.

Atlanta Housewives

Even though the 9th season is still going – reunion part 2 of 4 airs this Sunday – there is already talk in the streets that Phaedra Parks will not be returning to the franchise, due to her extreme manipulations and lies against some of the other housewives such as Kandi Burruss and Porsha Williams. I used to love me some Phaedra, especially when she was close with Kandi, but now, I feel joy come over my body when the idea of her leaving sets in. Karma much?

But! Guess who will be returning for season 10?! No, not NeNe, sadly. But none other than the Atlanta blonde broad herself, Miss Kim Zolciak! Don’t be tardy for the party… More like don’t be tardy for the plastic surgery or duck lip injections! But in all honesty, I kind of like Kim, I mean, she is an original. Plus the drama between her and Kenya Moore is real. You might have seen the preview of their beef if you watched the season finale. It will also gives the viewers a chance to see how Kim and Kandi mend their friendship. I am very excited for this return.

That’s all I have for now. Nothing has changed with the New York City housewives, though there was speculation that Jill Zarin was going to return, but all we know is that she makes a guest appearance on this season.

I hope this brings some enlightenment to your reality life!

The 13 Reasons Why…

You may have heard abou the new Netflix original series 13 Reasons why, since it’s been the talk of all social media outlets since it’s premier on March 31st. I have many points to this topic, so I’m going to try and make it as organized as possible, just bare with me.

First, a summary of the show’s first season.. we kick off with the suicide of a high school sophomore named Hannah Baker, who, upon her death, made 13 cassette tapes, referring to the 13 people who helped “aid” in her suicidal death, whether it was by bullying, raping, or not doing enough to save her from her depression. Each episode focuses on a cassette; 13 suspects, 13 cassettes, 13 episodes.

I will say that this show is very intense, so if you can’t handle watching explicit scenes or rape and suicide, then this show probably isn’t for you.

The description of the story are spot on, if I do say so myself. It understands and defines the levels of tearing someone a part, starting with the breaking of ones heart, to destroying ones reputation, onto breaking of ones spirit, ending with breaking ones soul, which results in ending ones life.

There has been so much negative speculation on the show, by people saying that it’s over dramatized and highly inaccurate. Speculation has also been made saying that it highly fantasizes the outcome of someone committing suicide. Well, here is why I call absolute bullshit on that:

  1. Many shows often have at least ONE episode that fantasizes suicide where a character will “die” to see the outcome of how the lives of others are effected, and yet everyone on this planet doesn’t bat an eye.
  2. How in the hell can one overly dramatize something as real life as this?
  3. Suicide: can someone explain to me how one is supposed to react when suicidal? I mean I just don’t think people really pay attention to real life anymore. Robin Williams is a perfect example. He gave off the persona that he was as happy as anyone could possibly be, yet fought depression so bad that he couldn’t deal with it anymore and took his own life.
  4. Rape: please, don’t even start with me. The first rape victim became an alcoholic and drug user because of it. Which, if you look at real life statistics, I’d say that’s pretty spot on. As for the other rape victim? Well, that was the tipping point for her suicide.
  5. Name calling and fabrication: 1 in 3 people are called something derogatory, and fabricated upon, ESPECIALLY while in grade school. I know that better than anyone else. I was the gay queer that had a crush on every single guy in the neighborhood, just because I was openly gay. Shit talking is the number one thing that lives in those adolescent years. Even adults do it, the workplace is full of it. Hence the saying “this is so high school”.
  6. Being sexualized: seriously? This was over dramatized? Our entire nation is based upon men and women being attractive and sexually appealing. That’s why blonde hair and blue eyes are a thing, because that’s what America wants. It’s all over our magazines, newspapers and even our televisions.

I have never seen something focus on the very structure of suicide, and get it so nearly spot on. I say nearly, for the fact that depression comes in many different shapes and sizes. Someone can be depressed by life changing circumstances, while the other could be depressed due to grief or medical conditions. So, depression in this series is loosely explored and defined, but it gives us a better idea and understanding: you really don’t know what someone is going through.

Now, I will not lie, this show did piss me off, very much. In the show, everyone wanted to keep it a secret, per Hannah’s request. But this grew more and more unbearable for her lover, Clay Jensen. He wanted so bad to just out everybody, and grew the courage to try do to so, very often, but every time, someone would tell him no, and he would basically be like “ok”, which is stupid, because in real life, anyone would turn in the evidence to get the story out there, or at least I would.

I was also perturbed when all of the suspects, who were undoubtedly guilty, would constantly blame the dead girl. Yeah, it’s so easy to blame someone who is no longer breathing right? This more or less bothered me because it reminds of the real world. On the news today you can hear people say “well, if she wasn’t wearing a skirt or wearing a tank top then she wouldn’t have been raped,” or something along the line of “boys will be boys.” But don’t let it fool you, this even happens in the show! At the end, the counselor tells Hannah to “just move on” when she’s opening up about being raped. I know it’s just a show, but I literally wanted to jump through my television and beat his face myself.

Which leads me to my next point.

This show covers so much real life in today’s perspective that it’s not even funny. You have two gay fathers raising an adopted daughter, you have a meth head mother who chooses her abusive boyfriend over her son, you have the perfect rich kid who can buy his way out of everything, you have the kid who has a cop for a parent and therefore is untouched, you have lesbian as well as gay couples. You have the family owned business being overtaken by the big corporation. There is even a point in the show where they point out the hatred battles going on in the world. It graphs out what really goes on the the world today, and it’s so realistic, and I think that’s what really gets under people’s skin.

What really want to know is how they got the “suicide” wrong? So many speculators say it’s not accurate. But how? Because she cut her wrists the right way? Or was it because her reasonings don’t add up to their standards? Or maybe it was the fact that people believe they’re (suicidals) going to do what they want so why bother trying? These are questions that I will probably never get the answer to. But I think this show is a great view, and I feel that it can be very educational. I know we are imperfect beings, but at some point, somewhere, we gotta see a change. Parents rather raise their kids being mean, vicious, murderers, instead of raising them with love, compassion and understanding.

I’m not asking you to agree with me. But I’m asking you to take a look for yourself. I’d rather do my best to help someone, than to go on while they continue to suffer. Don’t be like the kids

I will advise another warning though, if you do watch the show. The rape and suicide scenes are very real-like, and very intense. Proceed with caution.

Speculating 5th Harmony’s Split with Camila Cabello

At the beginning of the year, a heart was put through the harmonizer’s hearts when news struck that Camila Cabello left the group 5th harmony, which she was a part of for 5 years. Camila, along with her four other group members, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Hernandez, Dinah Jane, & Normani Kordei, came into play after they all gave their astounding performances on the Hollywood hit show The X Factor.

The amazing group grew to popularity very quickly, with their first hit song “Worth It” soaring off the charts shortly after it dropped, landing on the Hot 100, along with a 4% increase to 3.6 million streams. Their first album, Reflection, dropped at the beginning of 2015 and sold over 60,000 copies!

5H managed to keep us on our toes, when they released their single from their second album, 7/27, the following year. “Work from Home” was my personal favorite, and still is to this day! But of course we won’t forget to mention “All in My Head”.

That’s My Girl” was the last song the group performed together with all 5 members. Camila did two features on songs while solo, yet she was still part of 5H. Then, at the beginning of the year, Camila’s manager told 5H that she would be stepping away from the group!

5H was not having it! They released a statement saying that they had no idea and that they were basically bling sided by the news.  Camila took to Twitter shortly after hearing their statement and retaliated in saying “the fact that the girls are saying they had no idea that I wanted to pursue my solo career, is just not true. I wish them nothing but the best and will continue to support them!”

But that’s not why I’m here. I’m here to discuss the potential reasons as to why Camila left the group. There’s been a lot of speculation on the subject.

Some people are blaming Khloe Kardashian, for allegedly forcing Demi Lovato to say the name of the member that she thought shined the most during The X Factor performance. Other’s blame Demi Lovato herself for saying that Camila was the only one that shined. They both kind of played a role, Demi brought it up, Khloe was shady, and Demi fell for it. Did this go straight to Camila’s head?

But wait, what about Taylor Swift?

Taylor was the queen of shade during the 5H regime. She grew an instant liking to Camila, and even invited her to a party, while completely shading the rest of the group by not extending the invite.  In a video, you an even hear Taylor constantly ask Camila “Is that YOUR song on the radio?” over and over again, completely ignoring the fact that it was a 5H song.  Taylor constantly pushed Camila to go solo. Now, whether it was for personal gain, to see her “friend” strive, or a complete sabotage gain, to break up and take out her competition, is the real question here.

I honestly think it’s a combination of all of the above.  I think Camila originally wanted a solo career, then her ego got inflated by all of these celebrity influences; she did two solo features on songs, and felt like she was powerful enough to go out on her own. There’s also the fact that Camila felt as if they were constantly being sexualized, which would play a factor for anyone. As well as the fact that Lauren felt the girls got overworked and received little to nothing for it. You can find both videos on YouTube.

I’m no hater, I very much love me some Camila, & I hope all of her dreams come true, but I am very sad & disappointed that she just left the group so abruptly. The group tried to get her to do therapy with them and find solutions, but Camila was not having it.

The good news is that, even though they are one member short, 5H is still and will continue to play strong! I personally wonder if they will find another 5th, or if they’ll just keep it the original 4.

How do you feel about the separation?

Bad Girls Club Final Season?!

This is probably the most heartbreaking news I have heard in 2017. I have been a huge fan of the Bad Girls Club series since I watched the second season with crazy Brooklyn girl, Tanisha Thomas, back in 2007, a whopping 10 years ago. I’ve continued to follow every season after that, but not including the Bad Girls: Love Games, or All Star Battle.

It brings me sad emotions to announce that the Oxygen Network has decided to take an ax to some of their reality TV programming, which includes Bad Girls Club, which has been running for 11 years now. So it looks as if season 17: East meets west, which aired on February 14th, will be the last! *Sobbing*

It really does shock me that the Network would decide to cut out Bad Girls Club, due to the fact that the show the most popular on the Oxygen station. Who doesn’t like to watch a handful of crazy, wild girls fight and bicker while trying to grow into better women? Personally, I was always salty that they didn’t do one for men, or at least gays, because I would try out for every season! Ha-ha.

Sisterhood of Hip-Hop and Battle of the Ex Besties will also be cut as part of its rebranding as a crime-themed network. That’s right; Oxygen wants to return to its Crime genre, full time.

This is what Oxygen chief Frances Berwick had to say:

We have a long history in the crime genre. The recent expansion of our Crime Time weekend block has enjoyed double-digit gains and has really resonated with our female audience. What’s interesting is that many younger viewers are now finding that programming. What a tremendous explosion of people following crime online, from podcasts to social chat. It’s certainly really encouraging; we’ve always had a very avid fan base for crime programming, and it feels the right moment to go all in.”

This also bothers me because I see some resolutions for this problem. The creators of Bad Girls Club, Jonathan Murray & Mary-Ellis Bunim, are also the creators of The Real World, which airs on MTV.  So, why can’t they just move the show from Oxygen to MTV? I don’t think the MTV Network would mind, because that would just mean the Network gets even more viewings. Also, they could combine the Bad Girls Club with The Real World in the form of putting the cast members on The Challenge series. I would personally love to see the mixture of the two! The challenged and drama would literally be off the charts!

I really hope that the creators of the series really put some hard thought into this, because there would be a lot of people that would be sad to see the Bad Girl franchise die off. I keep getting my hopes up though, because while I watch the 17th season of Bad Girls Club, I don’t see anyone saying anything about it being the ‘final’ season. So I will continue to pray that it’s not over for these crazy women just yet!

Is Reality TV To Blame For Creation Of Mean Girls?

I am a personal fan of reality TV, which is why I have a reality category, ha-ha. But allegedly, the reality stars are getting the finger pointed at them as far as blaming them for creating a generation of mean girls.

Allegedly, new research has been found that reality television makes teenage girls more mean to each other.

A specific show, ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’, gets called having catty, bitchy, and disrespectful behavior, yet they’re the most famous family, and most followed on all social media.

Another show, ‘The Bad Girls Club’, is a show about 7 bad girls getting put into a mansion to work on themselves, but only end up fighting and arguing left and right, which some, if not most, will say promotes violence. Being a YouTuber, I also watch a lot of videos. When I watch fighting videos, a lot of them will add text relating to this show.

Impressionable young women, which make up the majority of the programs’ audience, begin to believe that the only way to get ahead in life socially, is to undercut and beat down their rivals.

Another show to give a perfect example to the previous statement would be ‘Love and Hip Hop’. That’s the main promotion in the music industry. You have to cut down your rivals and prove that you are better than them.

Statistics show that 16 to 24 year olds spend more than 28 hours a week on the internet or watching TV, constantly downloading programs to computers or smartphones.

Dr. Elizabeth Behm-Morawitz of the University of Missouri, said: “Regular reality TV viewing is associated with the belief that girls are untrustworthy. Social aggression is a normal part of girls’ relationships with each other, and that it’s necessary to be mean or lie to get ahead in life.”

Certain shows, such as Love And Hip Hop: Atlanta, have made it to where you cannot physically touch one another, after the explosive reunion brawl between all of the cast members. So, all they can do it argue, which is where the cattiness comes into play.

My Thoughts

I am in the middle about it. I mean, I was watching the bad girls club since the very second season, which would put me at the age of 15-16, but it never turned me into someone who wants to go out and fight people, or argue with someone over some petty stuff. Now, don’t get it twisted, I was catty and sassy. But I was like that my whole life, ha-ha. I still watch all of the shows I listed, including other reality TV drama-based shows, and I go about my life in a respectful, mature, professional fashion.

I feel like this is just a new genre added to the blame game. If you know about the blame game, then you know its about those critics who blame everything for the actions of others. Video games cause issues in men, horror movies cause people to kill each other, music causes people to believe in getting money and sleeping around, blah-blah-blah. I mean, I’m sure there is a small percentage of people in each category that do base their lives on these genres, but as to blame these genres for EVERYONES’ actions, I think is just plain nonsense.

What are your thoughts?

Reality Snapbacks

Real Housewives Of New York City Return!

Back in November, the RHONY began filming for their ninth season! I think it’s safe to say that it’s easy to learn the timeline of their recording process, since the NY series always starts off around November. But, the season recording was confirmed by Ramona Singer and LuAnn de Lesseps.

We may even get a glance at the wedding planning de Lesseps is doing for her event on New Year’s Eve. Which would mean she is already married? Unless the old, cheating man got smart and left the man-like, ex countess, wildebeest of a woman… Excuse me; I am just not a fan of LuAnn. She is very snaky, rude, & nasty.

A sad moment ahead of us is the fact that Jules Wainstein may not be returning to the show, due to the horrific drama that unleashed during her divorce during the end of the show. She was the new addition to last season. According to returning host, Dorinda Medley, it was a mutual agreement between Wainstein and the Bravo Network. She would not be able to give us a lot of insight into her life, due to the ongoing divorce, which means she would not be able to bring much of anything to the show.

Of course, Dorinda Medley is also returning, along with Sonja Morgan. Allegedly they still have issues and beef between them, so I am sure we will be seeing them continue to fight through their disagreements that may, or may not allow them to mend their broken friendship.

Accusations have continually been flying around that Dorinda has a drug problem, which I can personally believe in, since I have watched the show religiously. I can say without a doubt that she does have a drinking problem, just like Sonja did, until she finally got help. You go Sonja!!! Kudos to you!

I hope to see the return of Carole Radziwill and my all-time favorite, Bethenny Frankel. But the gossip around town is that Bethenny will not be returning, yet again – *frown face* – but again, this is just gossip that I hope is not true, because I feel that if Bethenny does not return, then Carole will also leave the show, due to the fact that her and Bethenny had such a tight friendship and really did mesh well with the other cast members.

Lord, make it right and let them return! But I guess we will just have to wait and see! I know we don’t have to wait too much longer before season 9 finally premiers!
