A Transgender’s Horrid High School Story

At the bottom of this page, you will find a link to a story about a transgender man names Casey Hoke, who went through some horrid harassment during his time at DuPont Manual High School, right here in the heart of Louisville Metro.

He was a senior back in 2015 when his principal, Jerry Mayes, saw him coming out of the men’s bathroom, confronted him, and began questioning him about things that were honestly none of the principals business!

The article is gut wrenching, if I do say so myself. I instantly became full of anger. First of all, if you see a ‘problem’ with a student, you take it up with the students parents, you don’t take matters into your own hands and begin questioning things in their personal life, I don’t care how old the student is.

But it doesn’t stop there. He did more than ask the student what procedures he’s had on his genitalia, — yeah you heard me correctly, he asked those kinds of questions— he also had multiple meetings with his teachers regarding the subject, even though they were already aware of Casey’s situation, due to the fact that an article about his story was posted in the school board a couple of years prior.

When asked by Casey, why any of this would concern him, all he was able to mumble out was “if I get into trouble because of you…”

excuse my French, but how fucking disgusting are we trying to be in the year 2017? Or even 2015??? Plus, if everyone literally knew about it since his freshman year and hasn’t complained, then where would the problem be? Besides in your own small minded brain? …

Anyways, In this article, you will also see that the principal also called teachers “cute” little pet names, even after they asked him not to, which made said teachers feel very uncomfortable. And let’s not even dig into the fact that he strongly opposed Manual’s Black Student Union & Gay Straight Transgender Alliance, but made sure to take full credit for.

If you ask me, I think this so called principal should be let go. He overstepped many boundaries within a single year of holding his position. He doesn’t deserve the title. He clearly has some issues he needs to work out before taking on such a big responsibility of making sure a building full of students and teachers are all well taken care of.

I’m very happy to help spread Casey’s word and to help bring light to the situations we face here in Louisville.

I had my own incidents in middle and high school, so I know it’s bigger than one school or one person. Time for Louisville to step into the new millennium.

Pulse: One Year Later

It’s been a year since the tragic accident in Orlando Florida, when crazed and sickened Omar Mateen shot up the Pulse nightclub, which is a LGBTQ friendly club were such members can go and enjoy themselves. But that wasn’t the case for 49 people that night.

I want this to be a huge reminder for everyone, which really connects to my previous blog, that we have so much to fight for, and accomplish. This attack was one of the biggest hate crimes to hit on American Soil. People were murdered for being who they were meant to be.

Pulse Victims, 2016

It’s hard to imagine that we still face these situations in the new millennium, as we should be way past these types of unnecessary situations. But I want this to be a huge billboard for the quacks that say there is no homophobia, no anti-gay laws, etc. especially since we’re still struggling to be recognized as regular human beings like everyone else.

Then there are those who don’t even care. Nicki Minaj tweeted this just a few days after the incident:

It’s completely fine to have your own beliefs and what not, everyone is entitled and unique in their own way… but this? Absolutely no remorse or sympathy for the lives that have been lost? Disgusting.

But it’s not even just Nicki.

Some of the parents of the victims never even claimed their bodies after the shooting. Yes, you heard me correctly on that. Why, Do you ask? Because they don’t accept their children for being gay… how heartbreaking, htat even in death, some of these poor souls couldn’t find love and acceptance. Might I remind you all that some of these people would just be turning 22, 23 years old. These were literally babies.  Hell, even the ones that were older, in their 40s and 50s, should be considered babies, for the fact that there is not a point in time when someone says or should ever say: “they’re old enough, it’s ok if they die.”

Homophobia is real and very much alive today. I don’t know what’s worse, the man killing these innocent people, or the parents that reject them, even in death. They’re both pretty neck and neck if you ask me.

This should honestly be the new reason and slogan for our pride month, because this is what we fight for, this is what we want justice for, not some damn fictional monster named babadook!

It’s irrelevant to me if the crazed murderer claimed to be apart of isis or not. That’s no excuse to let this kind of tragic situation slide. This one incident may have been for “isis” but that doesn’t mean that everyone that gets bashed, bullied and murdered on the daily isn’t from someone who is a homophobe.

It warms my heart to see so many people posting in favor and memory of the pulse victims. It lets me know that some of us still remember and are stricken by the pain to this day. Let them Rest In eternal Peace, because that’s what they deserve. Let’s not allow their murders to be in vain!

prideful June

Every year, in the mont of June, the nation, along with many countries around the world, celebrate the LGBTQ community, & every year, the gays all get together to promote their dignity, equality, and to increase their visibility as a social group. This is know as Gay Pride, which is the positive stance against discrimination and violence towards this group.

But regardless of why you attend the special LGBTQ events for equality, whether it’s to meet people, party, or for social justice, I think the message we send out is very important. I honestly think people lose track of why we have such a celebratory month to begin with. When I attended pride, I didn’t receive a history lesson, but I will say that I got to see different walks of life, the young mixed with the old, the conservatives mixed with the liberals, so on and so forth, which was an eye opening experience for myself. I’m all for people having a great time, hell, we very much deserve it in my book after all the oppression we have received over the decades, but I think it’s fair that we also get a continual reminder as to why we get to even celebrate.

Pride outside at the Idaho Capitol

So, let’s jump back to the 1950s and 1960s. This era was extremely repressive for the LGBTQ community. There were no legal or social rights for any of them. We can give much thanks to such organizations like Daughters of Bilitis & Mattachine Society for being the ones to pave the way for our community today. They would carry out pickets known as annual reminders to inform the nation that the LGBTQ community didn’t have any rights whatsoever. These annual reminders began in 1965 & took place each July 4th, outside of Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

The protesters of this course counted gay men and women to have mental illness, much like we see today, hence Mike Pence, the 45th’s backup.

The first Pride march in New York City was June 28, 1970. Which was proposed by Craig Rodwell, his partner Fred Sargeant, Ellen Broidy, & Linda Rhodes back in 1969.

“That the Annual Reminder, in order to be more relevant, reach a greater number of people, and encompass the ideas and ideals of the larger struggle in which we are engaged-that of our fundamental human rights-be moved both in time and location.

We propose that a demonstration be held annually on the last Saturday in June in New York City to commemorate the 1969 spontaneous demonstrations on Christopher Street and this demonstration be called CHRISTOPHER STREET LIBERATION DAY. No dress or age regulations shall be made for this demonstration.

We also propose that we contact Homophile organizations throughout the country and suggest that they hold parallel demonstrations on that day. We propose a nationwide show of support.”

Stockholm Pride Week 2014

We also can’t forget about Brenda Howard, the woman known as the Mother of Pride for her use of coordinating the first march, which went down in history, & covered the 51 blocks to Central Park. She also originated the dea for a week long series of events surrounding Pride day.

During the same weekend of the NYC march, there were two marches in California: one in L.A. And one in San Francisco, as well as a march in Chicago. Just two years after the first march, 15 more cities/countries joined the Pride March, including Stockholm, Atlanta, & London.

These legends really paved the way for or community, & I wish they were given more air time. Especially since we have come as far as being able to marry our own now! Our rights are getting higher and higher on the scale, & I’m damn sure they would be all too happy to see what has been accomplished.

So next time you’re out celebrating Pride, take a moment to realize why you’re able to do it in the first place. When you sip on your beer, make a toast to the ones that made it all possible for us.

Apple Releasing Red Models for HIV Awareness

I have loved Apple for many years and for many reasons. But this one just tops it all off!

Friday, march 24th, Apple will be releasing the new iPhone color, which will be the sixth color option when purchasing a model. They decided on the red concept due to their partnership with the RED campaign, which helps raise awareness as well as profit for HIV/AIDS.

Due to the 11 year partnership between Apple and the RED campaign, Apple will be releasing a red iPod nano as well as the red iPhone 7 models. (Damn! I have a 6S plus) but we cannot deny that they have carried on this legacy during the whole decade. Back in 2006, Apple released a special edition red iPod, then they dropped the red beats headphones, and even the red smart battery cases.

If you want to get your hands on the new phone, you can purchase it online Friday, or pick one up in a retail store next week. You’ll be stylish and supporting a fantastic cause!

According to Apple, any and every purchase of the Red models will contribute to the global fund to support HIV/AIDS programs.

Releasing the red iPhone was a “nice recognition of our partnership with the (RED) team in fighting HIV and AIDs,” said Apple’s VP of marketing, Greg Joswiak.

The red iPhone 7 will cost at least $749. According to Mashable, the red iPhone 7 Plus will come in 128 GB and 256 GB configurations and set you back $749 and $849, respectively, while the 7 Plus will set you back $869 and $969 for the same configurations.

It must also be known that these will be limited! Grab a limited edition red model while you can!

Gay Couple Discriminated During Ice Hockey Kiss Cam

Everyone knows David Simms, the public announcer for the Sheffield Steelers, is a complete douchebag, just to sum it all up. We know this boy makes racist, sexist and discriminatory remarks, and on occasion condones child abuse. He’s been an embarrassment for years, but management loves him, so his actions will always be over looked.

Over the weekend, Saturday, March 4th to be exact, a gay couple was publicly humiliated by Simms, after they shared a kiss on the kiss cam. The men locked lips during a break at the Sheffield Steelers vs. Cardiff Devils match. Simms immediately said on live television that “the kiss is disgusting” and ordered security to “get rid of them.”

Simms later told BBC Radio: “Maybe I live in a different world; I can’t really see the offence I have caused. But if people have been offended, I am truly sorry… People, who know me, know I don’t like to offend.”

Really dude? That’s a very backhanded apology, with little meaning behind it, especially when it’s coming from someone with a history of racist and derogatory remarks.

When angry fans and humans with hearts took to twitter to show their disgust with Simms, he tweeted this:

“It was a rough day. I genuinely meant no offence yesterday but many people certainly made more of it than there was. “

Is this a second backhanded apology? Because nobody, yet again, took it as one. Simms did confirm that the LGBT community did offer him counselling, in which he said he would consider. Yeah, right.

EVEN THE STEELERS ISSUED A STATEMENT AND REITERATED THAT NO OFFENCE WAS INTENDED! They’re never going to see any wrong doings in his actions.

“In no way did Mr. Simms intend what was said in a derogatory or offensive way. The club and the EIHL have been in touch with LGBT directly.”

Ok? What the hell does that even mean? Because LGBT people buy your tickets to enjoy your show, means you’re able to backhandedly joke and disrespect us? How about no.

What’s even more funny about this is the fact that the Sheffield Steelers executive even goes on film to deny deliberately making homophobic remarks. Like, dude, it was on live television!

At least we can say that people who make such idiotic remarks, have brains the size of peanuts.

He also went on to say that it was a fun moment on the kiss cam. But what made this seem funny? Because I have never heard anyone do it to opposite sex couples. In fact, I never even heard them do it to lesbian couples. But men are so disgustingly offensive?

I always told myself that if a man has to hate on same sex men, it’s because he hasn’t yet been able to reveal his big bag of fruity pebbles locked deep inside of his closet.

FIRE HIS ASS! We have enough bad things going on in the world, we don’t need more ignorant things like this to continue to slide by.

‘Ze’ Is Taking Over

As you can see, the LGBT community is working hard to make ‘Ze’ the new gender neutral pronoun the new adoption for he or she.

I’m not really sure how I feel about this. I am part of the LGBT community, and I feel like there is only he and she. I do understand that there are people out there who feel like they’re trapped in the wrong body. I get it. But if you feel that way, then take the steps you need to take to get yourself in your comfortable body. I don’t feel like changing pronouns is going to fix any situations, but instead just complicate things.

I may piss off my fellow LGBT family by saying this, but I really think this is just going to far. This is just going to lead to more bad outcomes than good, in my eyes.

So now every person on the planet can be like nah I feel like a woman, so let me walk into the women’s bathroom and play with these women.

I feel like a woman so I can go into the women’s changing room and get naked around these naked women and that’s ok bc I feel like a woman.

We have to draw the line somewhere. Let the gender neutral pronoun be just that.

I understand we all want our equal rights. But let’s make one step at a time. As a gay man, we still have a lot of equality issues to fight for. As well as the other categories of the LGBT.

I’m in fear that if we keep pushing these barriers, they’re only going to end up backfiring at the end of the day.

Teenage Son Murdered By Mother For Being Gay.

Here is a small cap of the story:

32 year old supermarket manager, Tatiana Lozano Pereira, from a small town near Sao Paolo, Brazil, confessed to stabbing her 17 year old son, Itaberli Lozano, multiple times until he died, for being gay. His body was found a week later, burned and buried in a field.

I have one word for this mother, and it is simply, bitch.

Tatiana, or bitch, made claims that her son used drugs and contently brought men to their home. But his uncle, Dario Rosa, Denied those claims, and added that Lozano was a hardworking and well educated teen.

For several days, the mother, or bitch, told the family that he had run away to live with extended family, but nine days later filed a missing persons report. The body had already been found 2 days before she filed.

In her first confession, the mother, or bitch, stated that they constantly argued and he eventually threatened her, her husband, and their 3 year old child, so she stabbed him in self-defense. She then woke her sleeping husband,Alex Pereira, 30,  to help her wrap the body, burn, and bury him. But her story changed when it was found that in December, Lozano reported his mother to local authorities. He also posted on Facebook December 26th that she hired multiple boys to beat him. The teens were charged and gave a statement: “the mother hired us to ‘teach’ him a lesson.”

Both the mother and her husband were arrested and are being held for 30 days. They’re both charged with murder and concealment of a corpse.

Here’s My Thoughts:

People, especially parents, like this, make me sick to my stomach. It is the most hateful, bitchiest, most disgusting thing someone could do to someone else, based on their sexuality, especially when its your own mother!

This really makes my skin boil. You sit there and murder your first born child, then drag his name in the dirt, making accusations to make him look like a teenage slut, with bad anger issues, while the rest of the family gives opposite statements, calling him well educated, loving and hardworking.

I do not believe a word she said. He was not aggressive, or threatening, and by the way, let me say this, if I threatened my mom, she would beat my ass to the point to where I would know better to never do it again. She would not murder me! HELLO!!! Anyways, I believe that she strictly killed him because she did not want nor believe in having a homosexual for a son. I’m sure it also gets a little deeper than that. I mean, she does have a 3 year old child with her new husband, so that was probably good enough for her.

I hope they get everything that they deserve. I would say the death penalty, but that would just be giving them the easy way out. She needs to suffer, long and hard, haunted by her own demons, and live with her regretful decisions every day, until it’s her time to go.

The murder and suicide rate is so high in the LGBT community, due to situations like this. This is why children are scared, and find it complicated to open up to others about who they really are. Yet people continue to turn a blind eye, like well, they were mental. I’m sorry for my language, but I call straight bull shit on that.

FBI Arrest Widow of Orlando Nightclub Shooter

Do you remember the Orlando shooting at the Pulse nightclub on June 12th 2016, by the dirt bag, Omar Mateen? In case you don’t, he walked into the gay nightclub & massacred 49 people- 50, if you include the cowardly perpetrator – while leaving 53 others wounded. The shooting began at 2:02 a.m. & ended at 5:14 a.m., when the Orlando Police Department killed Mateen, after a 3 hour standoff. During the standoff, Mateen pledged allegiance to the Islamic state. This was marked as a Terrorist attack as well as a hate crime. It was also marked as the deadliest mass shooting by a single shooter & the deadliest incident of violence against the LGBT community.

Well, his wife, Noor Salman, was arrested Monday by the FBI in connection with the attack.

Shortly after his death, Salman, moved back to Rodeo, California, where she grew up, which I do find a little fishy, but I could also understand feeling all kind of messed up waking up every day in the same place that your late husband murdered 49 people. But before she skipped town, she was extensively & repeatedly questioned by authorities in the aftermath of the shooting about whether or not she was aware of her husband’s motives and plans.

Salman did tell New York Times that she knew her husband watched Jihadist videos but she was “unaware of everything,” which sounds like an oxymoron, if you ask me. She did also state that she was physically abused by him.

Salman’s attorney, Linda Moreno, also gave a statement: “Noor Salman had no foreknowledge nor could she predict what Omar Mateen intended to do that tragic night.”

Moreno also added: Noor told her story of abuse at his hands. We believe it is misguided and wrong to prosecute her and that it dishonors the memories of the victims to punish an innocent person.”

Orlando Police Chief, John Mina, said in a statement that Salman was facing accusations of obstruction of justice as well as ‘aiding and abetting by providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization.”

Florida Governor, Rick Scott, also gave a statement, saying he hoped the arrest “provides some comfort to the families who are mourning their lost loved ones.”

Now, I’m going to stop there and give my opinion.

I do feel that she is rightfully convicted about the aiding and abetting to a terrorist. I do not feel like she should get the whole nine yards of ‘terrorist organization’. I feel like they’re giving her that title just because he would search Islamic materials, and pledged to the allegiance before he was shot, but that doesn’t mean she was a part of it. If he was an abusive husband, physically, then I am sure if he wanted to keep her in the dark, he would keep her in the damn dark. I honestly think it’s more of a paranoia thing right now, because I don’t see enough substantial evidence for her arrest. Her knowing about him watching jihadist videos is really nothing, because the FBI questioned him way back in 2013 due to him boasting to co-workers about him having ties to al-Qaeda. So, if anyone is truly at fault, it would be the officials, for letting the coward walk free three years prior to the massacre. Also, as far as her knowledge of him owning a gun, well, that would kind of be expected since he was a security guard.

Now, let me just say, as a fellow LGBT member, I am not defending the killer, the terrorist, the all right down piece of sh*t. I’m just seeing it from my point of view as far as the wife goes. I’m in the middle about the justice of the outcome of these beautiful people who lost their lives – minus the ugly shooter – because I partially feel like justice was served when he got shot, but I also feel that justice will never be served due to the fact that no matter what they do to his wife, who may or may not have had anything to do with it, won’t bring back the lives of those that were lost.

I do stand with the LGBT family members that lost their loved ones. We will never forget their beautiful faces, nor will we ever forget that tragic night. Let them rest in peace.

Lawrence, MA Horror – Teen Beheaded

It was a long and sad day for the parents of 16 year old Lee Manuel Viloria-Paulino, when they reported him missing on November 19th in the county of Essex, in Lawrence Massachusetts.

His body was found around 2:45 pm in the Merrimack River, two weeks after the missing report was filed, by a woman who was walking her dog. It was just 30 miles from Boston.

It was tragic news, when his body was discovered, and he had been beheaded- they found the head near his body. The news literally shook the Lawrence community. He was murdered, decapitated, then thrown into the river.

Allegations point to Paulino’s High School classmate, 15 year old Matthew Borges. Borges has pleaded not guilty. He was held without bail while waiting for his court appearance next month. He will be tried as an adult for murder in the first degree.

As of right now, this is no motive being aired, so only speculation. Maybe a hate crime? One thing we do know for sure, is that this was not a random attack.

One day, in mid November, Paulino brought Borges to his house, while his family knew little about him. Then, just a few days later, Paulino left his home, never to return again. The police report does state that the two teens were smoking marijuana, the day Paulino went missing.

The only statement that Borges has given, was allegedly to a witness, and his words only consisted of “I did something bad.”

My heart goes out to Paulino’s family and friends during these real struggling times. I could not imagine dealing with something as severe as this. They are strong, and surrounded by love and support!

As for the murderer, I do not believe he acted alone. The autopsy alone took 11 hours, which means there was some serious damage. I don’t know any 15 year old that has that kind of power, to maim, murder, decapitate, and pick up another body and throw them down into a river. I hope the others are found, and justice is rightfully served.

This is something I never thought would happen on American soil. We don’t cut off heads here. My heart is literally breaking. God bless us all.

Texas Bill Requires LGBT Outing

This has to be one of the most disturbing posts I have written. If you follow any type of news, then you have probably heard about this crazy bill that is in the process of being passed, that will require teachers in school to out LGBT students to their parents… Crazy.

The bill that was filed by Texas State Senator Konni Burton, states that parents are entitled to full & complete information regarding their child’s academic performance, physical, mental & emotional health.

Though I do believe that parents are entitled to all thing that regard their children, I do not believe that it’s up to the school division to out the LGBT children.

Being a part of the LGBT community, as well as being an advocate, I can understand the emotions that the children have to go through, when coming out to the community, especially your family.

Equity Texas Chairman Steve M. Rudner stated that if your child doesn’t trust you enough to come out to you, then there’s probably a good reason. If your kid is gay, & can tell his teacher, but hasn’t told you, then you are the problem.

I can only partially agree with this statement. Yes, I believe there can be a good reason as to why a kid will tell others while keeping to a secret from their family. But I do not agree with the fact that if they don’t tell their parents, that their parents are the issue.

In some cases, yes, the parents can be very harsh on their kids for being LGBT, they disown, banish, beat, and abuse their kids, & my heart does go out to those poor kids that have to struggle.

But that’s not the case for everyone, at least it wasn’t for me. My family was very understanding.  My family actually knew my entire life! My mother did have a small emotional break down, but that was because of a previous incident as well as the fact that my friend told her instead of myself, which you can see in my video that I have linked to this post.

Both cases listed above, are damn good solid points as to why the only ones that should have the right, & the power to out their sexuality to the parents, are the kids themselves. If the parents are concerned with something like that, then they should be able to talk to their child about it.

I’m really curious to see how far this bill will go. I don’t personally think its right, but what are your feelings about it?

Check out my vlog about the topic, below.

God Bless Thy Nation

Come one, come all

We are ready for the fall!

Trump wins the presidential election by a whopping 279-228 electoral votes, though Hillary did lead in the popular votes (59,392,837 – Trump) (59,599,237 – Hillary). The nation literally fell into shell shock, even the ones who were on Trump’s side. Nobody truly excepted it. He won 30 out of the 50 states that make up this beautiful country.

There are a lot of mixed feelings and emotions floating around this country, and its only the first day after the election. I’ll be the first to say that I am pleased that Hillary didn’t win, but I’m not completely pleased with Trump, neither.

Here are my reasons why:

His campaign trail was a little messy. He made it very aware that he wanted to ship all immigrants back to their home countries, he wanted to change the laws that have been previously passed by other presidents, specifically the law allowing gays to marry, aka marriage equality, and not to mention him outbursts on women.

Now, I’ve done my research, I’ve watched the campaign from beginning to end. I do support his outlooks on abortion, unlike Hillary, who believed that getting a late abortion is acceptable, because full term babies don’t have rights. I support him in wanting to take out isis. I support his becoming ‘friendly’ with Russian president, Putin, to prevent World War 3. I support him trying to fix the corruption in our government.

He already has a plan for the first 100 days in office, which is, interesting, to say the least. He will introduce “broader legislative measures” such as:

  • Middle Class Tax Relief and Simplification Act
  • End the Offshoring Act
  • American Energy and Infrastructure Act
  • School Choice and Education Opportunity Act
  • Repeal and Replace Obamacare Act
  • Affordable Childcare and Eldercare Act
  • End Illegal Immigration Act
  • Restoring Community Safety Act
  • Restoring National Security Act
  • Clean Up Corruption in Washington Act

Some of his ideas have changed, such as the immigration deportation. This outlook went from removing all illegal immigrants, to removing the criminal illegal immigrants.

I honestly felt a lot better when I found out this information. If Trump can open his eyes and see that not everyone falls under the same category, and keep immigrants here that follow the law and rules, that just want to better their lives, then he can show how good of a person, that he wants everyone to believe.

But one thing I struggle with, is the LGBT community… I know he has flip flopped on the topic quite a bit, inevitably wanting the marriage choice to go to the states, while wanting to originally overthrow the ruling on Obergefell vs. Hodges, which passed marriage equality, due to his belief that marriage should be more traditional. While his vice president, Mike Pence, believes gay people can become straight, through electroshock therapy…. HUH?

I really hope that he does his job right, and makes America great again, in all the RIGHT PLACES! How do you think these next 4 years will pan out?
