A Transgender’s Horrid High School Story

At the bottom of this page, you will find a link to a story about a transgender man names Casey Hoke, who went through some horrid harassment during his time at DuPont Manual High School, right here in the heart of Louisville Metro.

He was a senior back in 2015 when his principal, Jerry Mayes, saw him coming out of the men’s bathroom, confronted him, and began questioning him about things that were honestly none of the principals business!

The article is gut wrenching, if I do say so myself. I instantly became full of anger. First of all, if you see a ‘problem’ with a student, you take it up with the students parents, you don’t take matters into your own hands and begin questioning things in their personal life, I don’t care how old the student is.

But it doesn’t stop there. He did more than ask the student what procedures he’s had on his genitalia, — yeah you heard me correctly, he asked those kinds of questions— he also had multiple meetings with his teachers regarding the subject, even though they were already aware of Casey’s situation, due to the fact that an article about his story was posted in the school board a couple of years prior.

When asked by Casey, why any of this would concern him, all he was able to mumble out was “if I get into trouble because of you…”

excuse my French, but how fucking disgusting are we trying to be in the year 2017? Or even 2015??? Plus, if everyone literally knew about it since his freshman year and hasn’t complained, then where would the problem be? Besides in your own small minded brain? …

Anyways, In this article, you will also see that the principal also called teachers “cute” little pet names, even after they asked him not to, which made said teachers feel very uncomfortable. And let’s not even dig into the fact that he strongly opposed Manual’s Black Student Union & Gay Straight Transgender Alliance, but made sure to take full credit for.

If you ask me, I think this so called principal should be let go. He overstepped many boundaries within a single year of holding his position. He doesn’t deserve the title. He clearly has some issues he needs to work out before taking on such a big responsibility of making sure a building full of students and teachers are all well taken care of.

I’m very happy to help spread Casey’s word and to help bring light to the situations we face here in Louisville.

I had my own incidents in middle and high school, so I know it’s bigger than one school or one person. Time for Louisville to step into the new millennium.

Blessings In A Backpack

Today I would like to talk about something a little more uplifting than usual. It’s almost the weeked, I feel good, & I want others to feel good too. No intense posts from me today.

Let’s talk about this amazing charity organization, Blessings in a Backpack.

Blessings in a Backpack are an organization that mobilizes communities, individuals & recourses to provide food on the weekend for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry.

The vision is just as beautiful mission. Every school – aged child in America has the nourishment needed to learn and grow. As a leader in the movement to end childhood hunger, Blessings strives to ensure children don’t go hungry on the weekends by empowering individuals & communities to take action.

One in five American children face food insecurity – this is more than the populations of New York City, Los Angeles & Chicago combined! These children count on the federal funds and food that they receive during the school lunch, and for most, these are the only meals they get.

Over 92,700 children are involved in the program, helping over 1,064 schools in 47 states nationwide.

It was blessing within itself to be a part of Blessings in a Backpack. I served a weekend run with some former colleagues from our college campus, back in the summer of 2012. We were stationed in Louisville, Kentucky, and we assisted the children at Roosevelt Perry Elementary.

I have never seen so many beautiful, happy faced, grateful children in my life.  It warmed my heart to stuff all of their backpacks with as many goodies as we possibly could.

There are many ways to donate for the charity program. You can give money – which you can do one time only, or even set up to pay monthly – stock items, or even backpacks! Or, my personal favorite, which is what myself and my colleagues did, you can step in and help out personally. You can be the one to put all of the treats in the bags, and see all the children’s’ smiling faces!

If anyone is donating, here are the steps:

Money – Send checks to the following address – Blessings in a Backpack , P.O. box 950291 , Louisville, KY 40295.

Stock – Contact the Associate Director of Development at (312) 893-5508.

Give in-Kind (Backpacks) – The only backpacks that can be accepted are new standard backpacks, or drawstrings. Sadly, satchels, roller bags, messenger bags or clear or mesh backpacks cannot be accepted. Call (800) 872 – 4366 to donate!

You can check out the website, to see all of the full details. There, you can also click on the donate tab, and choose whichever way you would like to donate!

I think this charity is one of the most positive impacting tools to take the nation by storm, and it warms my heart to see them going so strong for so many years. Children need all the help they can get because they are our future. We take care of them now, they take care of us later. Plus, with all the nastiness going on in the world today, these kids really need to know what love and compassion is.

Here is my PowerPoint – turned video of our work at Roosevelt Perry Elementary in Louisville, Kentucky. I hope you enjoy it!

White Privilege, Racism, & Hypocrisy

I think now is the time to really break down how the system works.

I was watching some videos, while doing some research. I always watch nationwide/world video events to stay on top of everything going on. Well, today I came across a video of a fellow blogger, I would assume, and he had a message about racism amongst white people…

This guy was an upmost mess. He started his video by saying he left his boyfriend, because his boyfriend began dating an older man, then added about how much he hates white people now. He then dived right on in, saying that all white people are racist, naturally, due to white privilege.

He gave a few examples of how generalization works. After he would mock a white person, he would hop back to his normal self, and give his ‘knowledge’. For example, he said all waters are wet, so it’s ok to use generalization…

This kind of worked for me, in terms of talking about OBJECTS. Objects and HUMAN BEINGS are completely DIFFERENT.

This really has bothered me on an astounding level.

What happens when white people generalize a whole race? We get called racist, which, is true. But a different race can do it to white people, and it’s completely ok? No, I think not, & that is where hypocrisy comes into play. That is also known as racism.

I don’t know what kind of history books people read, or what kind of dictionaries people use, but racism is not a definition used only against white people. As a matter of fact, let’s look at some definitions right now…

Racism: Racial discrimination or persecution

Race: division of mankind, based on skin color, etc.

With that being said, people who do the same exact thing to another race, or person with a different skin tone, while talking about how they’re segregated, are also racist.

You cannot classify everyone as a whole, just because there are a handful of people amongst a certain race, are who are in fact, racist. I stand up for all nationalities, skin colors, all of the minorities. I am a fighter for all, Freedom, equality, and compassion.

I think the dude in the video was really confused between white privilege and white power. White privilege does not make a white person an automatic racist. Someone who gloats about white power is a racist. This dude seriously needs to get his facts together before slipping off at the mouth.

This article is not just about white and black. This really happens between all races and nationalities that reside in the USA. There is one race, and that is the human race! The only way we can stop oppression and segregation is if we stop doing it to everyone that doesn’t look like us, or eat like us, or talk like us, or pray like us, etc. I can keep going, but I really think I made my point.

Here is the video I made earlier, regarding the same subject. Watch it, as it may help give more enlightenment.

From Cable Telecommunications to Charter Communications, We Say Bye- Bye To Time Warner!

Time Warner is finally leaving Louisville. On August 13, 2011, Time Warner Cable bought out Insight Communications and all of its 11.4 million residential and business customers for 67 million dollars – which I personally thought was the best cable around, along with the best deals ever – and made instant changes to the system. We were with insight communications for a good 11 years, but once Time Warner Cable came into the picture, we left the cable company in a matter of 3 years, that’s how horrible TW is. We are not DirecTV customers, with ATT Uverse internet.

Every month, we were paying upwards to 300 dollars a month when we had two sets of movie channels, or downwards of 250 dollars a month when we cancelled the two sets of movie channels, & check this, when we decided to go to basic cable, we were paying 200 dollars a month! I mean, just total shit, if I may say so. I can remember my mother being on the phone with them every day, raising hell because they were always getting the bill wrong. We were not the only dissatisfied customers in the TW cesspool. They raped people, as far as pricing went.

Good news and great suspicion aroused back in May of 2016, when an announcement was made that Charter bought out TW and would be planning on changing it to Spectrum. Well this is now our reality! Charter is making some changes to the internet, TV, and phone services, starting with the name, Spectrum.

“Eventually, all markets with the Time Warner Cable will become Spectrum brand,” said Mike Hogan, spokesman for Charter Communication.

Spectrum will feature straightforward, national pricing with no contracts, no early termination fees, & is backed by a 30-day, money back guarantee. Spectrum is also investing in serveries in response to consumer complaints about the cable carriers as a whole. You know, basically cleaning up Time Warner’s mess.

There won’t be much change in the internet as far as the speeds go. The base will begin at 60 mbps, and the fastest will still be 300 mbps, while in some areas, people may only see 100 mbps. BUT, the good news about the internet change is, there will no longer be any more data caps, no more usage-based pricing or additional modem fees!

As far as cable goes, Spectrum will offer a Spectrum Mi Plan that offers 75 Spanish language channels, along with 20 local broadcast & popular English channels. All subscribers will also have access to the company’s TV app, which means you can access all of your favorite shows and channels on portable devices, such as tablets or cell phones.

Now, getting into the phone lines, Spectrum will also be similar to TW, providing unlimited local and long-distance calling in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands, as well as free 411 calls. You will also get free voice mail, call waiting, call blocking, and call forwarding.

Spectrum plans to add 20,000 jobs throughout the country, & the majority of them will be servicing customers directly. Spectrum will also be bringing the jobs back from overseas. These jobs include call centers, leaving more room for availability for technical support.

So it’s kind of a 50/50 shot for me that Spectrum will overpower Time Warner, but at least they’re jobs back here to help out unemployment rate nationwide!

Are you excited for the much needed change?!

Rapists Amongst Us

Here is an image collaboration that is taking the internet by storm..

This is real bothersome to me. These are just a few people who find it socially acceptable to rape women. Rather they’re joking or not, this kind of social issue is not something to be made fun of.

This reminds of me of the Brock Turner in Stanford rape case. He allegedly sexually assaulted and raped an unconscious girl at a party, and the judge decided not to give him any trouble because “his academics are so good and will take him far in life.” They said nothing should be too severe since it was only “20 minutes of action.” ARE YOU SERIOUS? It’s stupid officials like this in our country that  it easy for stupid people to post stupid statements about rape being ok.

The criminal justice statistics show that out of every 1,000 rapes, only 944 will be reported to the police! And only 7 will be lead to a felony conviction and only 6 will be incarcerated. Smh. What a healthy system we have, right?

We made the top ten countries with the highest rape crime, and guess where we fall? Number 1!! Outrageous. Canada, United Kingdom, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, France, Germany, India, Sweden, & South Africa also make the list.

This is one of the most disgusted issues I feel that we have in the world.

Look at famous singer and songwriter, Kesha, who has continually battled to free herself from her label because her manager constantly sexually assaults her, yet she loses because our nation gets to decide who has been raped, assualted, or hurt.

Woman get taped, end up getting pregnant, then looked down upon and trash talked for wanting to abort it, due to the fact that it’s not from a good place, it could carry the same issues as the rapist, and it wasn’t wanted!

That’s why I don’t see how people can make jokes about things like this. Sometimes, I do feel that this is one heartless ass world that I live in.

What are your thoughts on the situation?

Kentucky Senate Abortions & Right-to-Work Bills

For those of you who follow the news, you may be aware of the senate bill Being passed around, which is about changing when abortions can be made. It would ban women from getting abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Exceptions can and will be made if an abortion is necessary to save the woman’s life or prevent substantial, irreversible harm to any part of body functions. But no exceptions for rape, incest, or mental health issues. Disgusting.

House approved, 79-15.

Planned parenthood and other American civil liberties of Kentucky plan to protest this bill. They also filed a lawsuit & are awaiting the judge’s decision.

Planned parenthood said, “it’s not only shameful, it’s dangerous for women.”

But Kentucky is a little hypocritical, if I do say so myself, because there is another bill that’s about to be passed, that forces women to get ultrasounds of their baby before getting an abortion.  The medical doctor would show the lady the images of the unborn baby, as well as allow them listen to the heartbeat. But, allegedly, the women have the right to refuse…. So, why make the damn bill anyways?

“It’s just another way to shame women,” said a private state representative, before adding, “pro choice is American.”

Senate approved, 32-5. Sad.

Let me just throw out there that Matt Bevin signed both bills. This is the man that Kentucky keeps nominating as Governor.

After signing the bills, Bevin gave a statement: ” This is truly a new day in Kentucky.”

This statement also came with the ‘right to work’ bill, which forces workers to join a union, or pay union dues, as a condition of employment. Opponents say it’s a way for employees to gain “benefits.” Yeah right, it’s about working more while getting paid for less. Slavery coming back around?

Senate approved, 25-12.

Good for you Biven, I’m glad you feel good about yourself.

My Roots In My Old Kentucky Home

Those of you who follow me, on my website as well as in my personal life, may not know where I come from. See, I was born in Louisville, Ky. But I was raised in Henry County, for about 4 years, until we got into a horrible car accident, which caused us to lose my older brother. After the incident, we moved to Oldham County, to a small town named La Grange.

Our family doctor is still located out in New Castle, because we have been going there for over 20 years, I mean literally ever since I was just a baby. Our doctor even considers me as his son; he actually hugged me so tight when we went in to see him on Tuesday. It’s also pretty cool that he used to live in New Jersey, which is where I now reside. I live 30 minutes away from where he grew up as a kid. The Tuesday was the most reminiscing moment of our lives. So much has changed, yet so much is still the same.

Our old apartment complex is located right behind the doctor’s office, so we drive passed it every time we leave. It even still has the same name.

This day was particularly special, because traffic was so bad on the interstate, so we decided to take route 146 instead. A decision we will never regret.

For those who don’t know much about Kentucky, route 146 runs all the way from New Castle Kentucky, all the way down to Westport road, which is basically the metropolitan of Louisville, which also directs us to our current house in St. Matthews.

So, taking route 146, we also passed through La Grange, which is where we moved to after leaving New Castle. We passed so many things that were new, as well as so many things that remain in business, even after 17 years of moving away. It was a real bonding moment when we passed our other apartment complex that we resided in while in La Grange. I remembered the apartment that we lived in, riding my bike through the complex, sucking on honey suckles in the back, & even where I would catch my bus every morning.

As we continued down 146, we hit Buckner Kentucky. What’s in Buckner you ask? Well, that’s where my mother used to work when she worked at the state prisons, Such as KCIW, KCPC, and Lutherlucket… That’s right; my momma is a bad bitch, so I wouldn’t mess with her, ha-ha.

We drove passed the gas station where we would always get our spicy chicken and potato wedges, which is still there!!!! I was in literal shock when I saw it.

It was the most beautiful, bonding road trip down memory lane that we could ever have.

Our lives have really changed since then. We moved back to Louisville in 2000, as soon as I finished third grade, & now we only visit when we go to the doctor. So the fact that we took our time, to really revisit our past lives, and to see where we have landed, has touched our hearts in ways that we always thought would be a negative void.

I will forever cherish this beautiful moment, and this will officially be the best throwback Thursday post that I ever write. I hope you enjoyed a piece of my personal life! ❤

Here is a video of the one and only New Castle Kentucky. I am proud to say that I was raised in one of the oldest small towns in this beautiful bluegrass state.

Teacher Snatches Mic From Autistic Boy

On November 17, 2016, these elementary school kids were putting on a thanksgiving show in West Virginia. At the end of the presentation, three students took to the stage to give some final words. One was an autistic six – year old boy named Caleb. Well, let’s just say that when it was his turn to speak, the teacher ran up and snatched the microphone away, before he could even get a word out. This literally brought the boy to tears

In the video that has been given, you can see the children in their costumes approach the mic one by one to thank the audience and to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving. But when it comes to Caleb’s turn, you see the teacher rush up and yank the microphone away, while Caleb is screaming “OH NO!”

You can even hear some of the parents say, “Why would she do that?” Well, In my opinion, because she’s a hateful b*tch. That is so rude & heartless.

Amanda Riddle, the mother of six year old Caleb had a few words to say: “I left in tears because Mrs. Linsey grabbed the microphone from Caleb in a mean way. My son is a little different but his heart is so big and he loves everyone. What does it matter if he wanted to say ‘gobble gobble’ he was the turkey after all. I’m sick of kids that are not considered ‘normal’ to be treated the way they are.”

There has been nothing but full support for the boy, & critical backlash of the behavior of the teacher towards the autistic child.

Harrison County Superintendent, Dr. Mark Manchin, told 5 news: “It’s a mistake that was made. There was no malice. This teacher, like all other teachers, truly cares about these boys and girls.” Manchin also added that the teacher feels really bad.

There has been a lot of backlash since the incident has taken place, & I for one, stand with them. It was malicious, it was done on purpose.

Many people took to Facebook and twitter, with a grand total of over 110 thousand shares of the original video, leaving the most blunt & honest remarks.

I personally agree with Nikki E Moore, with her statement: “I don’t know why other ‘adults’ thought it was funny. If I was there, being the child’s parent or not, I would have walked back up there and handed him the mic myself.”

YEEESS honey, I would have done the same, then I would have said a few words of my own in the mic.

She obviously did it on purpose. You can see the contempt in her face and the violent yanking away motion. I bet this ‘lady’ – if she deserves that title- always gives this poor young boy a hard time.

Caleb has become very popular. They are even trying to get him onto the Ellen show. He was also sent many Christmas gifts from all over the nation.

I, however would like to know what happened to the teacher, but given what the superintendent had to say, I’m sure she kept her job, just like all the horrible teachers do.

Here is the video of what happened..

Mariah Carey Crashes NYE Performance

Mariah Carey was mortified after she had microphone issues & technical difficulties while performing on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in Times Square. So mortified that she walked off stage.

The famous Singer went along with the planned choreography, but made no effort to sing during her six minute performance. She instead spoke directly to the crowd about the sound issues. Among other embarrassments, the shortened performance exposed Carey’s lip-syncing on her hits and her inability to hit some high notes when she tried to sing because, she said, her earpieces weren’t functioning.

Carey’s performance went viral and unedited, especially after the west coast broadcast.

Mariah Carey’s representative, Nicole Perna, lashed out at the producers, saying “they just want eyeballs at any expense,” & “set Carey up to fail.” Dick Clark Productions denied any wrongdoing and pushed back against Carey’s representative.

“All I can say is Dick Clark was an incredible person and I was lucky enough to work with him when I first started in the music business,” Carey said. “I’m of the opinion that Dick Clark would not have let an artist go through that and he would have been as mortified as I was in real time,” Mariah tells US Weekly.

Despite the disaster, Carey said the performance would not deter her from doing live TV in the future, but noted she’d proceed with more caution.

Here is a video, credited to ABC News, regarding her disastrous performance.

This may be a little crappy of me to say,  but I’m honest, so I don’t really care. I do feel like its something that needed to happen. I feel like she deserved this karma, for the fact that she belittles so many other hard working artists and musicians. She continually acts like she is a royal diva. Now,  I do not down play all of her hard work over the past 30 years, in fact, I do have quite a few of her songs on my playlist. But the cockiness has become too much, so I hope this helps her become just a little more humble. She’s just lucky that she is so popular, that even though she was lip syncing, she will still be able to continue, whereas past celebrities, such as Ashlee Simpson got caught lip syncing, and basically fell out of the public eye.

What are your thoughts on the situation?

A Lovely Holiday Break

Welcome to the year of 2017! My official first post for the year! Kind of exciting, ha-ha.

I spent time with my family on New Year’s eve, which is something that I have not been able to do in such a long time, given the fact that they live in Kentucky, and I live in Jersey. So it was beyond magical for the majority of us to be together again.

Let me just tell you how blissful it was for me. Apart from the fact that three of my baby cousins could not make it, as well as my daddy, who was stationed in New Jersey for the holidays, the family that could make it, made one hell of a party, excuse my French.

My mother & my aunt-in-law spent the whole day cooking, my five other baby cousins were all running around playing with each other, my aunt was washing dishes while I was rinsing them, & both of my uncles were preparing the food for the table, while my grandpa and his lovely girlfriend sat and watched television. I also received a snap chat message from one of my baby cousins from Wisconsin, sending us her love and wishes.

This was so magical to me, because it literally felt like old times. I mean, the last time we had such a full house, has been a few years. There was so much conversation, love, and just pure happiness in the air. There was no drama, no anger, just pure joy.

I think that’s one hell of a way to enter the new year! Not to mention the fact that some old relationships got repaired. I’ll accept that as a late Christmas present, if I may!

I also received some news from my daddy back in Jersey. He has a job lined up for me when I return in February; I’ll mark this one as an early birthday present, since my birthday is just 24 days away!

Then, yesterday, my mother had a procedure done, that removed her small cancerous mass. The procedure lasted less than an hour, & she is now cancer free again. So, this year is off to one hell of a fabulous start for myself and my family, & I’m loving every minute of it!

Now that my break is over, It’s time to get back to work, & do what I do best… Spill some tea!

Let me just ask everyone, was your New Year celebration as majestic as mine?

The Closing Of My 2016

The clock is ticking, people! The new year is just four days away. With that being said, here’s a breakdown of my 2016 experience!

Can I just say that this has been one hell of a year. This is actually the first year that I have ever lived out of state. I was born and raised in Kentucky for 23 years. Then one day, my family was like “hey, you ready for New York?,” uh YES?!

It was the most amazing and the best decision that I have ever made in my life, literally. See, I’m the type of guy that struggles with decisions. I almost always second-guess myself. But with the decision to move, it was a no brainer. I never second guessed it. I think it was so simple for me, because moving out of state is something that I have always wanted to do.

The only thing that was hard for me, was leaving my mother, family, & friends. But the cool thing about my lifestyle, is that I get to visit them quite often, & while away, we make sure to keep in contact, because that’s how love and friendship really works.

I have learned to adapt in a whole new world. Let me be the one to tell you that New York & New Jersey are completely different from Kentucky. My way of life has even changed. There’s my Kentucky ways, and there’s my Jersey ways. I like to think of myself as a chameleon.

My family bond has never been as strong as it is today, and I am so very excited to see that we will continue to grow together into the coming year.

My mother, who has had numerous health issues for the majority of her life, is finally better than ever. She’s still healing, but let me just say she’s like 90% well, and I will surely f*cking take it!

I have been forming a beautiful bond with a man who took me in as his own child, the man that earned the daddy title, and I swear to you right here, right now, nobody else will ever have that title but him. My mother actually gets a little salty for the fact that I am now becoming a daddy’s boy, ha-ha.

there have been some low moments during this year, of course. There were some scares with my mother’s house during the middle of the year, but she pulled through like a true boss woman that she is! (Applause)

There have been some loss of loved ones this year as well, some that really hit home for me. I lost my great grandfather, which was the last of that generation of our livelihood. I also lost my pet cat, who I had for 15 years, he was literally my baby. I just recently mourned my best friend’s death anniversary of 2 years.

I have learned a lot about myself this year. I have grown, adapted, thrived, and conquered. I have done plenty of trial and errors, which I’m sure will continue into the new year, because that’s what constant growth is about.

Now, outside of my personal life, we have seen a lot of crazy events going on in the world. There has been so much mass terrorism, homicide, suicide, & too many hate crimes, death, suffering, & pain. Don’t even get me started with this election year.

I only hope and pray that 2017 brings peace, love, and happiness, like I find in my personal life.

Well, that’s my 2016 wrap up! How was your year?
