Scared Famous or Famously Scared??

VH1 has started a new series called “Scared Famous” which airs on Monday evenings at 9pm eastern time.

It’s hosted by Redman himself, with a cast of ten well known reality celebrities! A handful are models while the other are from Mob Wives and Love & Hip Hop.

Cast: Safaree Samuals, Yung Joc, Erica Mena, Tiffany (New York) Pollard, Drita D’Avanzo, Eva Marcille, Don Benjamin, Alaska Thunderfuck, the only and only Sky from Black Inc Crew, and Miss Nikki Baby (eliminated)

This Monday will be airing episode 4 of the series. The next episode will be picking up during the elimination round between Erica Mena and Yung Joc.

Without giving too much away, I really hope that Erica Mena goes home. I’m not a fan of hers at all. She was messy during her air time on LHHNY and she’s just as messy now. Plus, she completely went bonkers during the previous episode and turned her back on Yung Joc, another LHH cast member as well as a partner in her alliance. Joc didn’t even vote to throw Erica in the elimination round, he voted for Sky! So I would like to see karma get her.

I personally think she went after him due to jealousy. She was mad at him and Safaree for messing around with Tiffany… hashtag petty ???

Enough about that though. Let me give you the overall idea of the show!

When I first watched it, I thought it was corny, because the cast is staying in the ‘haunted’ Louisiana house with constant paranormal activity. But when you watch it, you can see how staged all the activity is. But after the second episode, it finally clicked. It’s more like a haunted house attraction. The cast must know that it’s set up, but given the stories that the place is haunted, when things start to happen, it legit causes fear. Just like when I go to a haunted attraction every year for Halloween, I know it’s fake, but I still get scared.

It makes for GREAT TV! It’s legitimately hilarious to watch them scream and freak out! Joc got to me the most because his opening scenes were him saying he’s a big man and isn’t scared of anything but then he’s running through the house screaming! I swear it’s worth the watch. It’s so damn comical.

Don’t get the wrong idea about the show though. It’s a strategy & elimination game. The cast has to do these challenges together to build money for their charities, but also have to make sure they’re not being the weakest during the challenges, because at the end, everyone must vote on who they think was the weakest, and that person must choose who they want to battle against in the elimination round. So we all know this makes good drama, due to backstabbing and flakey individuals!

As I stated above, all the money they make goes towards their charities that they’re representing, which I think is amazing.

I do believe they got the idea from MTV because they began doing that last year with The Challenge series. So there’s a little tea for you.

If you’re also interested in MTV’s The Challenge charity series, the new season airs Tuesday, November 21st!

A Transgender’s Horrid High School Story

At the bottom of this page, you will find a link to a story about a transgender man names Casey Hoke, who went through some horrid harassment during his time at DuPont Manual High School, right here in the heart of Louisville Metro.

He was a senior back in 2015 when his principal, Jerry Mayes, saw him coming out of the men’s bathroom, confronted him, and began questioning him about things that were honestly none of the principals business!

The article is gut wrenching, if I do say so myself. I instantly became full of anger. First of all, if you see a ‘problem’ with a student, you take it up with the students parents, you don’t take matters into your own hands and begin questioning things in their personal life, I don’t care how old the student is.

But it doesn’t stop there. He did more than ask the student what procedures he’s had on his genitalia, — yeah you heard me correctly, he asked those kinds of questions— he also had multiple meetings with his teachers regarding the subject, even though they were already aware of Casey’s situation, due to the fact that an article about his story was posted in the school board a couple of years prior.

When asked by Casey, why any of this would concern him, all he was able to mumble out was “if I get into trouble because of you…”

excuse my French, but how fucking disgusting are we trying to be in the year 2017? Or even 2015??? Plus, if everyone literally knew about it since his freshman year and hasn’t complained, then where would the problem be? Besides in your own small minded brain? …

Anyways, In this article, you will also see that the principal also called teachers “cute” little pet names, even after they asked him not to, which made said teachers feel very uncomfortable. And let’s not even dig into the fact that he strongly opposed Manual’s Black Student Union & Gay Straight Transgender Alliance, but made sure to take full credit for.

If you ask me, I think this so called principal should be let go. He overstepped many boundaries within a single year of holding his position. He doesn’t deserve the title. He clearly has some issues he needs to work out before taking on such a big responsibility of making sure a building full of students and teachers are all well taken care of.

I’m very happy to help spread Casey’s word and to help bring light to the situations we face here in Louisville.

I had my own incidents in middle and high school, so I know it’s bigger than one school or one person. Time for Louisville to step into the new millennium.

iPhone: Plus Size or X?!

I’m pretty sure I do these comparisons every year because I am most definitely an apple guy!

I am actually going to be getting a new phone soon, & of course I will be sticking with apple, but I struggle between the two new models that just dropped, so I figured we could make this a fun exercise were we go through to compare & contrast them together!

I am all about big phones. The first big model I got was clearly the 6 Plus, then I upgraded to the 6S Plus, which is why I am only looking at the 8 Plus and the X models.

Looks wise, the iPhone X just takes my breath away. It’s literally all glass, but that’s also its downfall, it shatters so easily, as reports have said. Of course I would get the most fabulous phone case to put it in, but I’m also the kind of person who likes to take it out every now & then just to enjoy it in its natural form, so this could be very concerning for me.

iPhone X & The 8/8 Plus models

Another cool thing about the X model is that it has a 5.8” super retina HD display screen, whereas the iPhone 8 Plus model only has a .5” retina HD display screen. What is the difference? There is no home button on the X model!

But for the 8 Plus model, it’s actually larger than the X model. The 8P is 6.24” by 3.07” whereas the X model is 5.65” by 2.79”. So the 8P model is winning in that department.

iPhone X

The X model only comes in two colors at this time: Silver & space grey. I’m not a fan. I’ve had a white & gold phone ever since I switched to apple. The 8P comes in silver, space grey, & gold. Again, the 8P is winning.

Both models are installed with 12MP wide angle and telephoto cameras, along with the dual optical image stabilization, so no matter which route I take, my selfie game will still be strong! But there is a difference in terms of the front facing cameras. For the X model, it’s a TrueDepth camera, & for the 8P, it’s just the FaceTime HD Camera. The front camera for the X also has portrait mode, lighting, and Animoji, whereas the 8P does not.

As far as the ID installments, the 8P model has the touch ID with passcode, but the X model has the Face ID with passcode… I’m not sure how I feel about the face recognition. I’m in the middle about it. It’s cool from a technology standpoint, but also very abrasive in the privacy department.

iPhone 8 Plus

I have been waiting for years with this one right here! Both models are equipped for wireless charging! My friend has Samsung, and his phone was equipped with this back in 2015, & I’ve been in love with it ever since. About damn time, Apple.

The capacity for both models only come in 64GB and 256GB, so either way, I’ll be getting a tremendous upgrade from my typical 16GB storage!

GAAAAH!! It really is hard to decide between the two! Which model sticks out the most to you guys?! Let me know!

Hartford not so Innocent

I’m sure everyone has heard about the poor young woman who was constantly terrorized at her university dorm.

It happened just a couple of days ago and it has already taken the internet by storm!

Imagine going to school to further your life and future career with other young adults who have the same ambitions, & end up being so disrespected, discriminated, and degraded solely based on the color of your skin. That’s what happened to poor Chennel Rowe.

Every day, her racist ass roommate, Brianna Brochu, terrorized her by wiping her used tampons on her belongings, unleashing her bodily fluids on her belongings, etc., and was even stupid enough (thank god) to post it all over her Instagram page.

That’s one thing I love about these stupid criminals, they always out themselves… isn’t God great?! Karma always wins.

It’s sad that poor Chennel couldn’t defend herself, but that’s also the beauty. She didn’t have to jeopardize her future for some dumb, immature, racist little girl. Karma handled that situation for her.

I sincerely hope that miss Chennel knows that there are thousands of people who are on her side! I am one that stands with you! Don’t let this dummy derail you from your goals! You do you girl!

I hope little miss racist gets her full sentence. She deserves everything that comes her way.

Gone Home: Console Edition

This one is for the gamers out there. This game is phenomenal!

The game “Gone Home” was originally a PC only game, but, to my knowledge, became a console edition not too long ago, and became available for free download via gold membership on the Xbox console.

Prior to seeing it on the free download screen, I’ve never heard of it before, so I figured I would download it and play, because the picture made it look as if it were a scary game, and we all know I love some horror.

I did not know, however, that it is literally a 15 minute game play. Very short for how amazing this game is, and kind of disappointing, because you’re left with wanting so much more.

The set up is kind of like “Slender: The Arrival”. You may not have played that game before, but if you follow my blog then you know about it because I wrote on it in the past. It has that eerie feel to it, and it’s first person, lights out, limited actions, but completely astounding.

So, given that it resembled the slender-man game, I was totally expecting some real horror. I was a little scared, I’m not even going to lie. There are even clues throughout the house about ghosts and paranormal activities, so for the third time, I was EXPECTING TO BE SCARED…

But it’s nothing like that. (SPOILER ALERT)

It’s about two sisters, one returning home from school and traveling, and the other, who has disappeared. The goal of the game is to search the entire house, which is quite large, for clues as to what happened.

With every key clue that you find, there is a special voice diaries attached. These voice diaries are of her sister, talking to her about what she’s going through, throughout the two year separation. It literally pulls at your heart strings.

And the music! The music is amazing in the game. It’s my second favorite thing about it.

But my first favorite, is the fact that her sister is gay! These stories that she tells her throughout the game, are of her coming out process and falling for one of her classmates, along with how their relationship blossoms and so forth. I won’t give it all away, in case someone out there decides to play it, but it’s truly remarkable and very worth the time to play!

The ending is so very sad, though! But I will also keep that to myself! Just make sure you check it out.

If you’re an Xbox gold member, it’s still free in the membership section of the store for 12 more days! Get it while you can! But even if it’s no longer available, it’s like 10 bucks, which isn’t bad. You get 1000 gamer score for completing all the achievements, and you probably put in about an hour total to collect them all. It’s definitely worthy of a few bucks.

I have seen people playing it on PlayStation as well, so if you’re a PSN player, you can check it out. I just don’t carry any information at this time for PS because I’m currently an Xbox owner only.

I’ll be getting a PlayStation this year though, so in the future, when I go gaming blogs, I’ll be able to broaden my information on the consoles!

If you have played this game, let me know what you think of it! I welcome it all! The good, the bad, and the ugly!

A Sunday Breach

Yesterday, two things happens across the globe.

The fist was a beautiful march in London, where thousands of muslims marched to denounce Islam and terrorism.

What really moves me is that, this in fact shows that just because a small group of people in an organization is bat shit crazy, doesn’t mean everyone in said organization is crazy. But what also saddens me is, the fact that this can be viewed by the entire world, seeing thousands of muslims who clearly stand on our side and are against terrorism, yet the entire world will still view all muslims as terrorists.

Which brings me to the horrific part of Sunday. Here in the USA, in Las Vegas, Nevada, a WHITE middle aged man went on a massive killing spree during a Jason Aldean concert. Jason Aldean is a famous country singer for those of you who are unaware.

What’s crazy and heartbreaking about this whole scenario, apart from the 50+ lives taken and the 100+ injured, is that this man, a long with all the other WHITE TERRORISTS in the past, won’t actually be seen or labeled as a terrorist, but instead will be called crazy, or mentally challenged, or some BS title to protect them due to their white skin. It absolutely sickens me how this world works.

Thousands of Muslims can march on our side – still labeled terrorists.

White men go on killing sprees – never a terrorist.

🤔🤔🤔 someone please tell me that I’m not crazy. Thoughts on this topic?

Throwback Fantasy

I have been playing the very original final fantasy for three days now, and I absolutely love it.

This apposes to be a shock to even myself, as I was never really a final fantasy kind of gamer. I only like the 13th addition to the game, and it was because of the graphics.

But we have the NES, so I figured I would try it out, just to see how it was, and I've been playing it ever since.

I'm not very far into the game. I just made it to level 4 magic spells. But I kick some major butt with my team! I have the fighter, black belt, red and white mages. So my team is all in for the win.

I put some sentimental effort into them as well. For instance, Im the fighter, my brother is the black belt, my mother is the red mage, and my father is the white mage. So it's a family team setting out to make the world a better place! Corny? Sure, but filled with emotions? Hell yeah.

At first I really hated it, for the fact that the miss ratio is quite high. But, once you level your players up and obtain better weapons, the damaging effects get a lot better.

No lie, I'm like 10 hours into the game and I'm only at the second castle! Meaning, I'm preparing to fight Dracula, for all of you final fantasy players, you know where I'm at. But you almost have to put so much time into it, because it's not that easy collecting thousands of coins to get all the items you need! Level 4 items are 4000 coins! Depending on what you battle, you can bring in anything from 30g to 300g.

I must say though, that I have fallen for the game. I wouldn't say that I'm going to set out and play all 15 additions, but I'm going to enjoy my time beating the original.

That's what I love about the NES, all the original classics are there and I have tried many of them already.

I've beat the very first Zelda, super Mario 3, Dr. Mario, while working on Kirby, being on the final level of StarTropics, and now final fantasy. I've also played around with Donkey Kong, which is another favorite of mine.

What kind of games do you enjoy? Let me know below!

War Of The Apes 🦍

I literally just finished watching War of the Planet of the Apes, and it was literally everything! Emotions run high with this film.

We see the return of our all loving ape, Caesar, who continues to try and keep his fellow apes safe from the killing humans in the third segment of the series.

I won't give too much away, but I will say this film will tug at your heart strings numerous times during the two and a half hour show.

It will leave you on your toes! I kept saying throughout the movie that certain things would happen because it was so predictable, yet every single time, I was wrong! You may have a bit of a clue though, if you have seen the originals.

I've seen some of the originals, but it's been a few years and I don't even know which ones I've seen, haha.

Apart from the film making you want to cry at every turn, there are also multiple scenes that will have you cracking up.

My mother, grandfather and I went to the Xscape theatre to see the film, and this location had reclining seats so it's as if we were at home watching it, all kicked back and comfortable. It helped set the mood to really enjoy the film.

My grandfather took us out there to celebrate my mother's birthday, which is tomorrow! Let's all wish her a very happy birthday!!!! 💙❤️😘

If you've seen the originals, then you know that this film is not the end. There will be more to come, but they definitely left it on one hell of a cliff hanger, I won't give it away though, you'll have to see it for yourself! 😉

I give this film a 5 star rating! It doesn't matter if you see it in theatre or if you wait until it comes out on DVD, just make sure you see this film!

A Weekend With The Boys

It has officially been a week since I’ve been in Louisville, & it has been one hell of a busy week, let me tell you! But its been very nice. I’ve traveled around parts of the town and have seen the changes that have taken over the one of a kind Derby City. I haven’t done much yet, for the fact that since I’ve been in town, there has been responsibilities that had to be taken care of.

But I’m here to talk about my weekend. My Saturday was supposed to be spent with my two great friends, Jacye & Maggie, for their bridal shower since they’re getting married in less than a month! Congratulations to the soon to be married couple!

But sadly, our car broke down Friday evening. I went out to run some errands and the brake lines busted, so I didn’t have any brakes, which scared the living crap out of me, honestly!

So, my uncle, being the most unique mechanic that I’ve ever seen, came over the following morning and began going to work on it. I even stayed by his side for the entire 9 hour work process and help him as much as I could, I even kept him in good company, with great conversation and good music. We spent a total of 12 hours together, due to our intense conversations. I felt so bad, for the fact that I had to miss my friend’s bridal shower, and my uncle missed his friend’s UFC event, but I honestly feel like it was all in God’s plan for us to have that bonding moment together. It was also a great thing to work with him, because I was able to learn more about what to do on a car when something goes wrong. For once in my life, my hands got dirty! Ha-ha.

But that’s not all of it. Sunday was also a fun filled day with my other uncle. Sunday around noon, I realized that there was something wrong with my bicycle, & my other uncle, being the greatest handy man I know, said I could bring it over so he could take a look at it. We spent a good 3 hours working on it, because there was something wrong with the front gears. It was another amazing day, because I was also hands on with him, learning the tools of the trade, to make sure I can keep a future upkeep on my bike. I felt like absolute caca with him as well because he was supposed to work on his car that day, but instead he dedicated his time to helping me trying to solve my problem. Again, my hands got dirty, and I actually like it! I could used to the dirty business.

It was a great weekend, to get dirty with the guys, and to gain the knowledge that I gained. It’s going to come in handy when I’m in New Jersey by myself and won’t have them around to keep everything together for me, ha-ha.

But the best part of it all was spending the quality time with each other, & being able to have that one on one time. I also like to look at it in the way that my father has done a good job in teaching me to handle responsibilities and make sure everything is taken care of. Everything played out the way it was supposed too. I just hope I don’t have to do anymore mechanical type work for a while! Ha-ha.

How was your weekend? Was it as fun and enjoyable as mine?

Amber and Piers: Nudity vs Feminism

Twitter is an infamous site to get all the celebrity tea and drama. It’s like a live version of reality and it doesn’t even cost a penny. Just three days ago, Amber Rose and Piers Morgan let it all hang out!

I guess you could say that Morgan initiated it by giving his opinion, which there’s nothing wrong with. Here’s the tweets between the two!

The ratchet & disrespect was real! But I honestly felt like Piers was holding it down! He even through a little bit of shade. 😂

If you’ve seen Amber’s bare photo – which anyone with any social media accounts surely have – then you can see what all the discussion is about!

I’ve seen a lot of reports from feminism magazines bashing Piers, saying he was attacking Amber and bashing her.

I do understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I respectfully call bs on the matter. He didn’t do anything wrong except give his opinion while stating that women shouldn’t have to bare all just to feel empowered, and I agree.

Do you honestly think showing your 🐱 on the internet is going to make people respect you and give you power?

Piers even shares this letter that Pop singer, Pink wrote:

I do feel that we as grown adults can do whatever we please with our lives. Amber can spread it for the world to see, do you boo. She’s clearly got the money and fame, so she outranks a lot of us.

I know it’s freedom of expression, and we express ourselves in our own ways. But my thing is, it gets hard to take things seriously when there are shenanigans tied with them. But that’s what controversy is all about. It gets you talking, researching and defining what things are. It gets you involved.

Now, we don’t really know what goes on in Amber’s head when she does her outlandish acts, again, it’s just her type of expression, which is why I’d love to see her and Piers together in a room, hashing it out about their ideas on femenism.

Now one thing I have with Piers is, he brought my woman, Lady Gaga, into it. What did she even have to do with their conversation? And amber did the same with Adam Levine:

Piers didn’t have a respond for this.

I really do hope they have a sit down and Converse about their opposing views on feminism. It would be miraculous to see them gain a mutual understanding and common ground.

What are your thoughts?

prideful June

Every year, in the mont of June, the nation, along with many countries around the world, celebrate the LGBTQ community, & every year, the gays all get together to promote their dignity, equality, and to increase their visibility as a social group. This is know as Gay Pride, which is the positive stance against discrimination and violence towards this group.

But regardless of why you attend the special LGBTQ events for equality, whether it’s to meet people, party, or for social justice, I think the message we send out is very important. I honestly think people lose track of why we have such a celebratory month to begin with. When I attended pride, I didn’t receive a history lesson, but I will say that I got to see different walks of life, the young mixed with the old, the conservatives mixed with the liberals, so on and so forth, which was an eye opening experience for myself. I’m all for people having a great time, hell, we very much deserve it in my book after all the oppression we have received over the decades, but I think it’s fair that we also get a continual reminder as to why we get to even celebrate.

Pride outside at the Idaho Capitol

So, let’s jump back to the 1950s and 1960s. This era was extremely repressive for the LGBTQ community. There were no legal or social rights for any of them. We can give much thanks to such organizations like Daughters of Bilitis & Mattachine Society for being the ones to pave the way for our community today. They would carry out pickets known as annual reminders to inform the nation that the LGBTQ community didn’t have any rights whatsoever. These annual reminders began in 1965 & took place each July 4th, outside of Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

The protesters of this course counted gay men and women to have mental illness, much like we see today, hence Mike Pence, the 45th’s backup.

The first Pride march in New York City was June 28, 1970. Which was proposed by Craig Rodwell, his partner Fred Sargeant, Ellen Broidy, & Linda Rhodes back in 1969.

“That the Annual Reminder, in order to be more relevant, reach a greater number of people, and encompass the ideas and ideals of the larger struggle in which we are engaged-that of our fundamental human rights-be moved both in time and location.

We propose that a demonstration be held annually on the last Saturday in June in New York City to commemorate the 1969 spontaneous demonstrations on Christopher Street and this demonstration be called CHRISTOPHER STREET LIBERATION DAY. No dress or age regulations shall be made for this demonstration.

We also propose that we contact Homophile organizations throughout the country and suggest that they hold parallel demonstrations on that day. We propose a nationwide show of support.”

Stockholm Pride Week 2014

We also can’t forget about Brenda Howard, the woman known as the Mother of Pride for her use of coordinating the first march, which went down in history, & covered the 51 blocks to Central Park. She also originated the dea for a week long series of events surrounding Pride day.

During the same weekend of the NYC march, there were two marches in California: one in L.A. And one in San Francisco, as well as a march in Chicago. Just two years after the first march, 15 more cities/countries joined the Pride March, including Stockholm, Atlanta, & London.

These legends really paved the way for or community, & I wish they were given more air time. Especially since we have come as far as being able to marry our own now! Our rights are getting higher and higher on the scale, & I’m damn sure they would be all too happy to see what has been accomplished.

So next time you’re out celebrating Pride, take a moment to realize why you’re able to do it in the first place. When you sip on your beer, make a toast to the ones that made it all possible for us.

A Year In Garfield

It’s really hard to believe that in less then a month, it will be a year that I’ve lived in Garfield. I’ll never forget when walked up those steps for the first time.

Plauderville Train Station, NJ 2017

My father and I did our last shift in Jersey City, hopped on a train – which was my first experience on the NJ transit trains – and rode it throughout the NJ plains. It was late at night, so I didn’t get to see much. It’s actually a little frustrating because now we know of the Garfield stop, which is fairly closer to our house compared to the Plauderville stop. But it was still nice, because it was late, dark, peaceful, and breezy. That was the first and last time I used the Plauderville station, but it still holds a great place in my heart.

Russian Orthodox Church, NJ 2017

The very first time I saw this church, it was that first night that we moved here, it was lit up and so beautiful. I instantly fell in love with this church, based on the architecture alone. Churches do something to me, I always get mesmerized by the structures. Anyway, I make it a point to pass this church every day, so I can admire the beauty.

Veterans of Foreign Wars, NJ 2017

In October of last year, my father and I ventured over to the Veterans of Foreign Wars building for a charity event. We paid money for some good food and treats, and got to see one of the funniest stand up comedy shows ever. We were surrounded by all of the politicians of Garfield. I even met this older lady while waiting at the bar, and we instantly clicked! I told her I was from the south and she told me she was from the Bronx. We laughed and had a good time while we waited for our refills. I’ll never forget that lady. It was an all out amazing experience.

Our Lady of Mt. Virgin, NJ 2016

These are two items that I purchased during the Mt. Virgin Fair. It’s an amazing experience for the fact that it’s like, literally right outside of our place. The whole street gets blocked off and they fill it with rides, games, and good “fair-like” foods. Just like the VFW, all money goes to charity. So it was money well spent. It lasts from 2pm-10pm, and goes on for 2 weeks. The hype is real when they’re set up! I’m actually excited for it to return this year. Fried Oreos… you haven’t lived until you’ve had them!

Family selfie, September 2016

I think this is what makes this place special to me. We have many memories in NJ, due to the fact that we’ve lived in this state for over a year and a half. And even though I’m not a fan of Garfield, for the sole purpose that there’s nothing here, it’s so dear to me because this is technically our first family home in NJ. We made memories here as a family, including birthdays, adventures, dinners, and bonding moments, all of which can never be taken away. Looking back on it now, it was the mark of the beginning of new memories in a new home, in a new state.
